The Real McCoys

@Dstauffer really looks good. I especially like it with the UHF. How's the texture of the vest?
-
@QuantumMechanic I actually like it best with just a UHF, but I also enjoy it over my outerware. The leather is really soft and supple.
Here's a pic of the texture:
I appreciate this detail, some leather buffer between the metal snap and interior lining:

I saw it at RMC Harajuku last month - beautiful piece like most of their items.
I walked away with the Steinbeck horsehide jacket and this denim tuxedo (RMC typeIII + Lot001 jeans):

@Dstauffer thanks for the macro. It looks incredible, and that detailing well it's pedantic. Will you be treating the leather with anything?
Thanks!

@QuantumMechanic I don't know what I'll do yet as far as treating it. I'm gonna have to do some research on what to do with deerskin. I will be wearing it in the winter so I'll have to take that into consideration.
@TrickHell this is a deerskin vest I picked up from RMC London. I was looking at the IH N-1 vest, but my size is sold out everywhere and in looking for my size, I came across this. I got it primarily to wear over my leather jacket in the winter months, but I am so impressed by it I can see myself wearing it quite a bit with my other gear. It's a touch larger than I'm used to in vest wear, but in order to fit over my outer wear and get the body length I needed I had to size up. But I don't think it's overly large. They had a dark brown too, but too small and plus I think the black looks better with my leather and any UHF I have. This vest is pretty unreal construction wise, and I realize that's par for the course given what I read in this thread, but it's my first RMC item so I was a little unsure of what to expect. Plus, I didn't find much info about this vest floating around the internet. The leather is super soft and supple, and the interior lining is quite substantial. The only negative I have is that there are no interior pockets, but that's just a preference thing on my end. Also, while the zipper is quite sturdy and smooth, I personally would have preferred a slightly larger one. But again, that does not inhibit the functionality, just a personal preference.
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to answer as best I can.

I have never treated mine in 3 years time as deerskin doesn't really require it (imho).
-
@FurattoHeddo thanks for the feedback. I was just coming to a similar conclusion after reading up on deerskin. From what I read it's right up there with horsehide in terms of durability. Good to know first hand though.
How does yours fit? Mind feels just a touch loose, I think partly because after I've had it on for a bit the down flattens just a touch. Nothing that I would consider oversized, but slighted relaxed nonetheless.
-
I would also describe my fit as relaxed. As it should be I guess.
-
Absolutely stunning! Love those boondockers, there's definitely a hole in my collection that needs to be filled.
-
Cheers @Dion ! I love RMC and their cut is a really good fit slim jims like me [emoji4]

Crap. Did you buy it from an AD?

Wow, that is surprising. I'm sure they will take that back. I hope they have a replacement in the same size.

Given their reputation and the price point in this thing, I am assuming they will. I just emailed them about. Unfortunately I had already discarded the original tags because I had planned on keeping it. Although I am sure that will not be an issue given I only had it two weeks and it will likely be considered "defective".
I know it's a first world problem, but just kinda bummed to see it happen to such a great piece. That being said, it is made by humans and there is always a margin of error…
