I've been lurking here for a while an putting off signing up, but davichan's post made me do it.

@ Davichan,  I have a very similar experience, got 301s-07bk 1.5 mos ago, loved them, had to squeeze etc… Went for 301s 2 weeks ago and your description is right on.

I looked at the tag inside the jawns and found that the OD tag, while hard to read, says W 31.  Since they were unsanforized 31's (and probably measured 33" or so pre-overdye) the OD shrinks them to a re-measured 32, whereas the sanforized 301s is just that, a sanforized W32.

All in all both are excellent IMO.

ive been wearing them constantly for over a month and they are developing some nice fades already.if you dont have one already you def should.they are simply the best slim fitting jeans imo.

Question about sizing…so my worn F380's measure 18" across the waist....should I purchase a size 34 and let it stretch 2 inches or get a size 36.  Note that I have an athletic lower half, and would like to slightly sag a little more than my f380's allow. Also, i know these are slim jeans, but i dont want them skin tight.  Really wish they made size 35....wat da ya think?

thnx for the help. so i was luckily able to actually try on my friends pair of month old 301s tday, and loved the knee down fit…my calves had just enough room. problem was i was experiencing some hip flare...does ih denim sit a lot better on the waist over time?

sorry would you please define hip flare? im not sure i quite understand. are you referring to how the hip thigh area drapes?  IMO a new pair of 301's if you hot soak and hang dry and if you wear them when slightly damp will provide an ungodly (in the good way) fit. no problems with hip area bulging out or anything like that

i have been trying for months to get a pair of them but they NEVER have them in my size. Are you guys expecting to do another run of the 301bks? I know theres a ton of new cuts coming out and this might be pushed to the backburner

just took some evo pics of my 301s after about 4 1/2 months of conitinous wear.2 soaks and 1 wash.it was my fist pair of japanese denim and i totally love these jeans;)

Just became the proud owner of some 301s. This is my first IH denim experience. I'm freaking amazed at the quality of these jeans. They are tight but contour perfectly. What is the consensus on the inseam shrinkage? I need to get them hemmed a few inches. I was wondering if I should soak them to get some shrinkage out of the way before I send them off to be chainstitched.

those are sanforized so shrinkage should be minimal..

Awesome. Yeah, the product description on self edge says that they will shrink .5" in length.

Question to you who own both 301's and Flatheads BSP's: Which one has higher rise? Rear rise preferably?

I measure close to a 2 inch difference between the IH 301 and the FH BSP.  My IH301 size 36 measure about 16 inches (rear rise).  The Flat Heads size 36 measure 14 inches.  The BSP's have a much tighter upper block.  I would also say my 301's have stretched more than my BSP's.  Both jeans are great.
