IH-8301S - SBG "Super Black Fade-To-Gray" Denim - Slim Cut

Been wearing these for about a month and a half. Had to soak em today to get the gross out of them.

My newest gets.  I needed some SBG and tried these on at Self Edge and had to get them.  Hemmed to 33".  Also, Frank says Hi.

So these were suppose to make it to Selfedge for repairs back in February, but they never got there. 

Here are some snaps of how they are looking now (missed focus on the last one). I'm gonna have to give them a wash pretty soon and actually send them in for repairs this time. Still undecided on whether or not I am going to have the knees repaired or leave them as is.

These still don't have a exposed selvedge right?

Also, are these as soft as the regular 301s? I have a pair of those and they were hands down the most comfortable denim I have ever worn right out of the box.

Pretty sure these don't have the selvedge edge. If you want that try the 555-03, which is a better cut IMO. Not as soft as the regular denim, but they soften up pretty quickly.

They do have exposed selvage. I bought mine no less than 6 months ago

As for the softness. They are definitely stiffer, which I like. But it's no where close to the 21oz indigo. Those are the softest ever

I have 2 pairs of the 555's - I prefer the 301s cut more.

I also prefer the 555 cut over the 301 cut.  They are very similar but the 555 has a slighter longer rise with a slightly tighter top block in my opinion.  Both are great though and the SBG denim looks great.

Picked up a lightly used pair of 301N, remembered how much I love Iron Heart- and coincidently needed a new pair of black jeans - so I snagged a 8301.

I forgot how stubborn 21oz is at first haha.

Good looks. Give it a few hard weeks of wear and they'll soften up. Put up some fit pics too!

The 21 oz SBG and 21 oz Superblack are much stiffer than the usual 21 oz denim. I could easily make my Superblacks stand on their own when brand new. They do soften up quite well after some wear.

I picked these up from SE online back in December or January and have used them as a dress and evening jean.  Probably have a few dozen wears in on them and they are much softer than new.

This cut works well on my skinny ass, and I get a ton of compliments on it.

After my 555-03 shrunk up a bit too much for me to squeeze into them, I have been missing having an SBG variant in the arsenal.

While I could have made a 36 work, the rise of the 301 cut dosnt always work for me so I gambled on a 38 and the fit is 100% perfect for me.

Luckily, the measurements all worked into my favor on the pair I received. Waist was 1.5" smaller than the chart, Rise was .5 larger in front, thigh is perfect and length was 2.5" shorter.

Very happy with the way they fit, and once the denim settles and I give them a soak, I'll probably get 2" or so chopped off the hem.
