I presume the fabric is the same, and thusly I suppose it is likely the color correction/photo editing effect… but the khaki IHM-14 appears to have a more olive tone than the khaki IHM-10, which looks more yellow/golden.  Am I bonkers? Is this wishful thinking?

So the lining is 80% wool 20% alpaca?

I found this information on Japanese websites.

Correct, sorry.  I just checked with Haraki.  When they told me what the lining was, they told me alpaca, not thinking that the wool bit was important to mention…....

So the lining and collar are predominantly wool, then? Or are you referring to the interlining? (In the case it is the former that is true, do you know what the interlining is made out of?)

Certain repro jackets, at a similar price point, claim double-faced, 100% alpaca, to include the sleeves - so I supposed the wool was for toughness/strength/durability! But I'm just a design geek, and certainly no expert…

We're not a repro company.  Haraki updates designs to work better for todays requirements.  Alpaca in the sleeves is a nightmare from a "binding" point of view…...

Also the silky texture of the quilt lining in the sleeves creates less friction and helps the arms of my shirts/sweaters/hoodies/etc stay in place when I am sliding my arms through.  This for me is a functional plus, especially during winter months when I am layered up.

There were a few comments from back in the day about the heavy fleece lined sleeves on the IHJ-06.
People said how sweaty the inside of their elbows got, especially of wearing a heavy shirt with it.  The quilted lining not only feels great, it helps keep mobility a priority and helps to fight the sweaty elbow syndrome while keeping your core (torso) warm. Smart  adjustment to the classic pattern if you ask me.

If memory serves, the ihj-06 had a "coating" on the inside of the cordura. I guess this made it more wind and water resistant, but it also keeps all the sweat in too. I have to wash it inside out (which ain't easy) often. I don't think the fleece had as much to do with the sweating as the (silicone??) coating.
