@Madame:
@neph93 - it's very kind of you to use the word "ravishing" - not sure I can live up to that but I do absolutely LOVE my IHV-02-IND and my black IHV-02
No room for false modesty on this thread, Mrs P [emoji8] I recall seeing a pic of you in an N-1 vest as well… Ravishing.

Great thread neph.. ravishing eh! [emoji4]
Here's a vintage Levi's vest
Love a good vest!️

@Black Orchid proof that a well chosen vest makes a good outfit great. I'm banking on Bodø being far enough away from W-S-M for me to get away with calling other peoples significant others "Ravishing"

It is, a 40 (L). It is wider than I need for a vest, but I sized up to get that extra bit of length. I don't tuck in shirts, so the length matters most to me. The 526sv is perfect to wear over hoodies

I'm torn between sizing down to wear over a tee/henley or going for something more versatile… Certainly looks great over a hoodie.

Thanks Neph. In tribute, I decided to break out the superblack vest today….

This is my first vest of the modern era (I used to wear them way back when along with Yorkshire made clogs, and a mohawk, but that's another story). Handmade by Jens Olav Dankertsen, founder of Livid Jeans, in his old workshop in Trondheim, Norway. This was back when Livid was just starting out a few years ago.
It's made of 13oz Kurabo sulphur dyed selvedge denim with a Nihon Menpu hickory lining, brass donuts buttons and is completely unbranded. Washed once, seen quite a bit of wear. It's a little rough around the edges (the button holes are a mess and some of the sewing is a little tatty) but I love it. Jens Olav was just starting out and was self taught. I have a duck vest made by him a couple of years later that is a similar design but with a much cleaner finish. That this is a little ragged is all part of it's charm. The brass donut buttons are my favourite thing about it. Sadly my skills with a camera are poor so I haven't really been able to take macro shots that do them justice…
