Rant On.
Why the hell is there Additional Assistant Referees at the Euros?
From what I have observed, their main role appears to be: (1). Prancing about the dead-ball line making no decisions whatsoever. (2). Taking up space in hotel rooms, that a genuine fan could be occupying. They are a joke!
I have seen in several games where the ball has crossed the dead-ball line, the AAR being two yards away, & not indicating to the referee that the ball has left the field of play. Also, all the shenanigans that go on in the box during a corner or free-kick, which I can see on the tv, are not brought to the attention of the referee.
_FIFA Laws of the Game 2015-16
Additional Assistant Referees.Among other duties,
Where appointed, the additional assistant referees, subject to the decision of the referee, are to indicate:
1. When the whole of the ball leaves the field of play over the goal line
2. Which team is entitled to a corner kick or goal kick
3. When misconduct or any other incident occurs out of the view of the referee
4. When offences have been committed whenever the additional assistant referees have a better view than the referee, particularly inside the penalty area
5. Whether, at penalty kicks, the goalkeeper moves off the goal line before the ball is kicked and if the ball crosses the line._I have not seen any AAR make any of the above decisions. Most notably, Items 3, 4 & 5.

As usual, watching an England match is a painful experience - when will I ever learn? I persuaded the barman in the AA lounge at LAX to put the footie on (flight to Vegas delayed couple of hours) and am beginning to regret it…

Well at least you got.a full bar to get you through the second half!

BREXIT

@van:
BREXIT
We'll have to beat Wales on Friday to complete the BREXIT.

Well done Iceland.
England were bereft of ideas. It was like watching a Sunday league pub team, still half pissed from the night before. Embarrassing.
There are two good things to come out of this though.
(1). Hodgson fell on his sword. And quite rightly so.
(2). The FA will save a few quid on hotel bills.

God they were awful 2nd half.
It's weird I am ok with them going out like that to Iceland. They didn't deserve to go through.
If we had of lost on penalties to Germany I would of been seething but this I am cool with. -
@spitfiredealer
I am also of the same mind. If we had played a blinder, & lost, I would be gutted.
However, we got beat by a better team, whilst playing shite. I have no complaints.
C'mon Wales. If they don't progress, c'mon T.P.D's. (I was born very close to M'gladbach).
