"Classic" rock is horrible. Businesses should never, ever play it, unless they are actively trying to drive customers away.
To quote Matt Farrell from Live Free Or Die Hard, "Just because it's old doesn't mean it's classic. What sucked then still sucks now."

But surely there are different types of classic rock? The Rolling Stones "I'ts only Rock n Roll (But I Like It)" = good, anything by U2, not so good.
-
Nope. Hate it all.
And while I'm on the subject, if we define popular by sales totals, the Music thread is one long unpopular opinion.
-
@Chris - I'm with you. I can appreciate the classic rock that pushed us where we are now (which is not very good, mind you), but I wouldn't choose to listen to it if I had the choice.
Oh, and while we are at it…Sweet Home Alabama, Freebird, Highway to Hell, anything Beatles, and Wagon Wheel (not classic, but oh so annoying) should be outlawed from every radio station, Cover Band and DJ Set forever.
For me, "Rock" didn't start until Johnny Rotten picked up a mic and ended when Dimebag Daryl was killed.

I'd personally reserve my hate for Adele and Sam Smith than ANY classic rock.

I dislike that hipster vibe Japanese denim has in SF. I.e I dont like Self Edge.
-
Could you quantify your dislike? Genuinely interested as I think they have done great things for denim retail in the west.
-
from what I've seen over the last 8 or so years following this stuff, SE has taken the japanese denim market and made it fit into every day, wearable american clothing. Not everyone wants to pay $1,000 for jeans and a shirt that make them look like a 1880s miner, but on the other hand, some people do and luckily for us, these companies produce garments that can be worn both ways.
I like that SE stocks items that can be worn heritage style, or with a modern twist. And in my eyes, any time we can build more business for japanese companies so they can keep pushing the boundaries of fabrics creation and garment construction while following a strong ethos of humanitarianism (i know this is not EVERY japanese company, but most seem to follow the safe working conditions, living wages ideal) I believe it is for the greater good.
That's just my opinion, and for some people, that may be unpopular haha

where is my popcorn . . .
-
surely hipster also covers kid cudie & childish gambino, but I have no idea on the term at all, hahahahaha
-
My in person experiences with Self Edge have been pretty consistent: friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff, kinda douchey customers.
-
How many folks have to chime in for it to be unpopular?
Good on you @tropicall15
-
Yeh, well played as it does seem a genuine unpopular opinion
-
True story, that's what the thread is here for, hahaha

Cudi always looked great in his APC and I mean, he's definitely down with Japanese gear as BAPE made a shirt for him (and he used to work in the soho store from what I understand. I always wonder if the dud that sold me Bapestas back in 2006 at the freshly
Opened NY store was cudi). Not sure I've ever seen him rock any repro gear but I will 100% honestly admit I wore Dior 19cm, kid robot hoodies and Nike SB Dunks entirely because of his first album hahaNow That picture I just put in your head of me from 2006-2008 probably should be an unpopular opinion in itself hahaha

Bape are one of the greatest Japanese clothing brands (unpop opinion).
