Luggage Bags and Packs

GR1 is a great bag (so is the GR2 BTW). My only complaint is that they are heavy. However, they are definitely bombproof.

Totally agree. I recently sold my Radio Ruck after using it for about 2 years. It served me well and probably would for years to come. I only sold it because I bought a Thrux Lawrence. One thing that did irritate me was that the black nylon always looks dusty even when new. Minor qualm I know!

I've used my GR1 as my general purpose work/travel bag for the last year, and it's excellent - carrying the essentials of laptop, notebook, iPad, phones, pens, cables, raincoat and a bottle of water with ease. In fact the main selling point for me, and the reason that I like it so much, is how well it carries the weight - my work laptop is a heavy old brick and numerous other rucksacks and messenger bags that I'd tried previously were unable to disguise that fact and by the end of my regular 2hr+ commute I was always aware of the load that I was carrying.
Once the GR1 is on my back it feels very secure and the weight melts away, allowing me to focus on the more important tasks of navigating through the hordes to get on/off trains/tubes/planes.
The front panel opening is also great and allows me to pack well and access stuff easily, but I do use a mix of Goruck and Eagle Creek pouches to help organise all the bits and pieces.
I'm seriously considering buying the GR2 as a 1 bag solution for work trips shorter than 4 days

Anybody have any experience with these? They don't seem as practical as they are snappy looking.

Well I have tan and black packs so I went for navy. However, I will probably be letting go of my tan Teranishi teardrop as they will probably be too similar. I am hoping that my wife catches the ups man because I'm very excited about this pack.

Bam! After several minutes fighting a very well taped box, here it is:
Showing how the strap is secured
Printed interior fabric
The superb and beautiful cobra buckle
My first impression is that it is a little smaller than I had expected but it is a great size for EDC. The quality definitely lives up to the hype and in fact it is damn near flawless in construction. I have yet to load it up but I have my concerns over the thin straps but time will tell how comfortable it is to wear. So far I'm very happy with it. Thanks to veloaudio for all the great advice!
