@sabergirl - TFH has always been on of my "unicorn" companies as I came into the raw denim scene during what I call the "Sydney Lo" era lol. Sadly, every fit I've ever wanted has never been made in my size… even at my smallest I could never make a 3001 or 310 work for me and now I can't even make a 3009 or 1001 work. I had some 3005 for about 5 years and liked them very much, but they almost looked like a loose boot cut on me, so once I outgrew them, I shifted them to a better home.  The 3XXX denim really is something special, as the vertical falling and hairiness comes alive after the first soak. I'm on a recent "easy wear, easy care" kick just wearing and washing as often as I please, and the FH denim does a good job of making this easy of wearers. I like this fit as it's something completely different, especially for people in the 34+ waist groups.  I love 47' cuts, but in a sz 38, the leg does not look good with size 9.5US shoes/boots, so this is a nice compromise of high(er) rise, roomy thigh and good taper.

@Danny RnH - looking forward to how these progress!  Once it's too hot for my UHR I'll be wearing these a lot. Im very happy with them, thanks again!

Okay @Appfaff going way off topic here. How/when do you define the "Sydney Lo" era? I was around before it all blew up, dropped in and out for a while. I recall/have his book somewhere around here. Question is around why is whatever time period defined by Sydney Lo?

I doubt it's a phrase anyone actually uses, but from 2007-2009 is what I would call the "Sydney Lo" period based on "my personal" timeline- for no other reason than because he was king for a lot of us kids getting into the denim scene at the time.  Following his WAYWT project, I remember wanting a pair of 3001 so badly but could not make the sizing work for me. I'll never forget haha

                time flies buddy... haha

Even though I discovered it years after the fact, I know exactly what you mean about Sidney Lo's jeans, Appfaff - the way he wore his FH jeans (and western shirts) looked ridiculously cool to me, that was basically what started my FH obsession back in 2011. I still think that not only his fades but also the fit on his 3001s is one of the absolute best I've ever seen from any jeans. But to really achieve that look (and get the most from FH's jeans in general) you need to not only be slim, but also on the shorter side… which at 6'3", I'm not.

me too; I actually think TFH would be one of my favorite overall brands were it not for the sizing.

the shirts are cut super slim and the jeans seems to be a bit off from the tag sizes lately

Can someone embed a picture of said Sydney Lo's FH's for those not up with the times or lazy to search out :). TIA.

(Last time I saw them they were in Self Edge if I recall correctly)

On day two of the 3012 and the fit is starting to settle a bit… I have a feeling once the combs really set, the silhouette will really become more streamline.

I forgot how crunchy the 3XXXX denim is!

@spitfiredealer - the cut is really cool, and a nice offering for more "western" body types. It's weird to say, but I thought of my old Levis 505s I used to wear back in High School - before slim jeans really took off - a mid-high rise - room in the seat and a nice taper.

I was a bit hesitant of the cut at first, because on super slim bodies the thighs are quite oversized, but on athletic frames, they look much more natural.

Yeah i gotta say looking at the measurements on rivet and hide the taper seems too much. But your fit pics changed my mind. I guess the taper is so much because it is on 39" inseam so once that has been hemmed to a more sensible length the taper won't be so much.

@spitfiredealer Yeah, I went ahead and had R&H hem mine to 35 pre-soak and the hem on the sz 38 is barely over 8inch post-soak.  I wear size 10 shoes/boots, so my sweet spot is right around 8 - since I knew these would be a summer jean for me, and would be worn with sneakers, loafers, oxfords, mocs, I figured the smaller the better, since I hate when the hem gets caught under the heel of my shoes.  Even more 301 have this happen with converse lo tops.

8" hem is sweet spot for me too. I am going to R&H in a couple of weeks so i will have a look at them in person

I'd strongly recommend making those your daily wearers for at least a year… Some real beauty in that fabric!

I would say under a year and a half of everyday wear. Wash every 2-4 weeks, which is why it isn't super contrasty. Still very impressive to me how not washed out they are though.
