I have my two pairs a 32 and a 33, and have worn them on alternative days. 10 days each and now they start to feel comfortable. The first week with each of them was in the edge of uncomfortable, especially the 32 was a painful start.

For the first few wears buttoning them needed the use of extra tools. As for the fit, I could not button the 32 all the way till after 4 wears. Now the 32 fits just right. The 33, was a perfect fit when I received it and now it starts to feel slightly relaxed.

They are a bit too long for me, ideal for me would be a 32 length, and they now measure at 34 and 34.5". I just wear then full length for now, and haven't decided if I will fold them or get them hemmed to proper length after a while.

In spite of the uncomfortable start, after 10 days in each, I can't see why I would want to wear any other pair of jeans 🙂 I am hooked, and am don't see any need to wear any of my other clothes the rest of the winter.

One of my very good customers does not trust himself to do the soaking/shrinking thing himself, so I have to do it for him (well, this is his 3rd pair of SR's, so he deserves some special treatment):

I always do it the Haraki way:

The following is Haraki’s advice on how to treat your Ih-634SR before you wear them:
"This denim is not processed. It will shrink and skew. I have made this pattern "shrink to fit", after washing or soaking a couple of times it will shrink to tag-size
When you get your jeans, soak them in a bath tub of cold water overnight. Turn them inside out and then wash them in a washing machine at no hotter than 30 degrees C, you do not need washing powder or detergent
Don't spin too fast and don't put them in a tumble dryer, it is far better to allow them to air dry (still inside-out) in the sun, try to smooth all wrinkles in the fabric before the jeans get too dry
After the initial soak, the leg will shrink about 2", after the wash, there will be further shrinkage of about 1". So in total you will get about 3" shrinkage. Please bear this in mind if you are hemming before washing”

On subsequent washes, always wash inside out and do not spin too fast or tumble dry.

Personally, I would advise against putting it into a washing machine. I got some weird fade marks when I did that

My SR's have faded out to the point where the wear marks are gone, but it was weird at first

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

I have done about 6 pairs now, and followed Harakis instructions and have had no problems.  Maybe we just have gentler washing machines in UK.

But your advice is good Doug, if in doubt, don't.

Beats, when you did yours here, did you put them through the machine or not?

That's entirely possible. My washing machine back home was pretty high powered. There was only two settings, and the delicate setting still left the marks

I went for super hot soak - I always like to get as much shrink as possible. Hot soak also helps getting rid of the extra starch…

if you want more shrinkage - hot. And no water doesn't hurt the indigo..they might even get a little darker..

I did an experiment today and popped a pair in the hottest water I could get out of the tap.  Dangerously fucking hot when I crank the boiler up.  Absolutely no indigo loss….....
