This believe it or not is one the Jeans factories that haraki uses.  It is here that many of the Iron Heart denim shirts are made.  The Iron Heart jeans are made in another factory, further up into the mountains, that we did not have the time to drive up to:

This is a non working model.  But this is the exact same Union Special that the factory uses for the inner leg seam on all Iron Heart 18oz plus jeans.  It is the only thing that is man enough for the job.

LOL nice commentary G  All of these "factory's" seem like they shouldn't even be called as such. They seem quite small.

That is what suprised me.  The "making up" factories were really quite small.  I guess that is one of the resaons that i can do a run of shirts as small as 20 pieces….perefct....G

This is the same type of machine as the union Special above, but it is "modern" and wimpy, so will not do heavy denim,  maxing out at about 15oz.  I love the way the folders work on these things:

About 15 secs before I took this vid, Daniel had applied a little to much pressure with his chop sticks to half a boiled egg.  The result was spectacularly messy.  Here he is showing off that he can in fact use a pair of chop sticks whilst I desperately hope for a repeat performance,  I was disappointed…....

Kiya with a small roll of weft and warp.  We never actually had explained to us in a way that we understood why this is done.  In the weaving process the weft comes from one roll or cotton and the warp from another, so why have a roll of the 2 threads together remains a mystery…....

Ever wondered how denim is sanforised?  Simple, stick between bloody great rollers and apply loads of pressure:

Im curious, what does the machine do to the jeans?

something really really bad…sandblasting maybe ?

They said that it just creases the jeans, but given the amount of sand on the floor, I suspect a little more than that was happening to them.  It was difficult to tell because they get zipped up into that black bag when the process is actually happening….G
