Just tried, yes, but they would sit on the buckle not over it…..

I should know later today; my D-width engineers are on the truck for delivery.

I had to sell my D width pair for being too narrow, so any insight is appreciated.

Also very interested to find this out.  (Especially since the styleforum GMTO of these will be in 'EE'.)

FH, how wide are your feet, and how wide were the pair you had to sell off?

Ok…so, the D-width engineers are on my feet (via plastic bag method).  I'm wearing medium-weight cotton socks today.  The initial tightness in the shaft is about the same - in other words, entrance/removal still requires some effort and/or trickery.  On the brannock, my feet are US 9.5D/9E (L/R).  I got the engineers in 8.5EE and 8.5D.

As expected, the EE-width has more volume and width throughout.  The D-width has a noticeably tighter/narrower heel, instep & toebox.  The D-width feels a bit shorter, likely due to the lower volume, and I get minimal (if any) slippage walking around with the straps loosely buckled.

To draw a comparison to other Viberg lasts, I'd say the 8.5EE engineer fits like an 8.5 on the 110 last.  The 8.5D engineer feels a tad smaller than an 8.5 on the 2030 last.

Just had my first hike with these boots. Very comfortable and it surprised me how easy I walked. My size is 10 ee which is the same as my indy's end wesco's. A tad big but wth thick socks no problem. Very tempted to get the 10 d as well.

I've got to say, these boots break in incredibly fast for how brutal the first few wears were.  After only about a week I am no longer needing to bag my feet to get them on, the soles are molding nicely, and they are becoming easier to get off.  Blister/rubbing issues have been non-existent which is a rare commodity with new boots.

I looked at @rocket 's picture above and immediately went and put on a pair of jeans and threw on my pair of engineers.  Just seeing a picture of the wild ones makes me want to wear em.

I am new to this forum so this is my first post.  Now that many of you have received your boots, I was wondering if you could provide sizing advice.

I wear a 10 on the Viberg 110 last and own the Viberg x SF "Sleek Hunter" Scout boot on the 2030 last in 10.5.  What size would you recommend for me for the Wild Ones boot on both the D and EE widths (2005 last)?  More info: my foot width is average (neither wide nor narrow).

                              Thank you!

lol, but I can kinda understand it….. I only got the chance to wear them for a 2 mile walk until now. All other times it was so damn hot over here and shorts and boots, you know...

Thanks, Rocket.  Would 10.5D apply to both the D and EE widths?  I assume the EE has a lot more volume so wonder if I should to size down the way I did from the 2030 (E width) to the 110 (EEE width).

10.5D is a D width… I have the feeling that a 10.5EE could be too roomy, just my opinion. Footwear sizing can be tricky, some like them snug, others roomy..... I guess you get my point...

Also if you take a min and read through the whole thread, there are several sizing postings, just read them, to get a idea how others sized them.

I have a pair in the 110 last in tagged 7 fitting on the snug site and went with a 8D in these and they fit perfect. So based from this, I'm pretty sure a 10.5D could do the trick. But it is still a "could"...

@putgildain I'd say take the 10EE if those boots in a 110 fit you well (there's no 10D in stock), also considering a lot of people go up one half from their usual size for the 2030 last (like you did). Just my two cents though…

EDIT: just noticed the 10EE is gone so follow rocket's advice instead  😉

Thanks, guys.  I did go back and read the thread.  As with most Viberg threads, sizing experience seems all over the place.  I read that these boots are hard to get on and off.  Wondering if ideally you go with the wider fitting to help getting them on and off?  but maybe it does not matter.
