Extras top-scored for the first time in Ashes cricket

      LOL

That about sums it up  😞

Nasser Hussain made a wise comment: 5 mm of grass at Trent Bridge last year produced a boring draw with number 11 Anderson scoring 81. A year later, with 8 mm of grass and cloudy skies, Australia have been blown away for 60.
The difference a little grass makes.

BTW, the club running Trent Bridge stadium won't make money as this game won't go into the fourth day. Hope they have insurance.

Well done thus far Australia…...England in Boycotts words were pathetic....

                                What he said about Butler:

_"Jos Buttler is like a rabbit caught in the headlights of Ashes cricket. A seven-year-old schoolboy would have played better. He hasn't made a run all series.

He hasn't shown any application whatsoever. It looks to me like his mind and confidence is shot for Test cricket - it's pathetic."_

Oh, but of course @ddtrash 's colleague, we're trying to make it into a game….

Rest in peace Brian Close! Like most others outside England, I came to know about him after seeing a clip on YouTube in which Michael Holding battered him with short stuff aimed at the body.

To face Holding & Co. at the age of 45 with no helmet on, the man had guts.

Thanks Maynard! There are many things one doesn't see anymore. This includes toothpick like bats, camera angle from the wicketkeeper's end, men in their 40s playing international cricket, run-ups that begin near the boundary, and a cricket that scares viewers.

RIP Mr. Close. A fine, brave cricketer indeed.

I can't imagine what it must have been like, standing at the crease, and watching Holding starting his run up in a different postcode, knowing fine well he had no intention of bowling at your stumps!!  :o

                                          Kudos.
