IHVB-05 - The Wild Ones - Iron Heart/Viberg Engineer Boot Collaboration
-
Mine arrived yesterday. Initial impressions when opening the box….. So much leather, my closet now smells like it. After trying in vain to get one on with no plastic bag assistance I caved and used a bag. Foot slid right in. They are definitely snug, but after a little break in they will fit like a glove. For reference I bought an 8.5D UK size, and wear a 9D US in Red Wing Iron Rangers, Frye Rogan Hikers, and Grenson Freds. The height of the boot is great with a good amount of lower leg coverage but not so much that you would have to worry about the top of the boot causing an awkward mid-calf flair with slimmer pants. They look awesome with a pair of 666-XHS. One of my favorite things about these is they justify a big cuff. In my opinion these boots look the best with a good sized cuff that sits above the lower buckle. The pant length @rocket is sporting on the previous page is right on point.

Some kind of boots are very snug in the beginning, so it can help to use a thin thrash bag over the whole feet with socks for an easier slide in/out or even folded laid in the inner backside of the boots.
For example like this

Interesting - I wear an 8.5 in IRs and an 8.5EE in these. Are your toes right at the end of these boots? I have about 3/8" of space in front of my big toe.

Extinct now?

thanks @Pavel Pipovič I know, was more like that I couldn't fully relate to the "problem" since I found them easy to get in and out….
sizing is a point, I got these in a tag 8D and they fit pretty much like my pair of 145, 110 last in tag size 7, I buy RW in US8, Wesco in US8....
and for cuffing, think this both works depending on the look you wanna have that day, etc...

No. The product had accidentally been switched off. It is a "feature" of our shop software, that this is all too easy to do. Alive again…..

Thanks G.

@Engineer I've got a small amount of space up front. These definitely feel tighter than my other boots but we'll see how much that changes as they break in.

Am I crazy for ordering another pair?
@BloodnThunder I figure as long as you can get your foot in, and they aren't painful, you should be good.

@Engineer agreed. My foot slides in easy enough with a plastic bag inside the heel. Aside from that there are the typical hotspots in certain places that are par for the course until the boots are broken in. The nice thing about how these initially fit is the snugger fit in the forefoot has helped almost totally eliminate heel-slip. So at least I don't have to worry about massive blisters on the back of my feet….. But sometimes you gotta sacrifice the ride for the look.... And these look great. I'm sure the ride will catch up soon enough.

anyone tried cutting the side straps into a more pointed shape?
