Yeah thats true Haha earlier 30s Cowboy have the selfedge and depending on manufacturers and looms most had some selfedge showing somewhere til the 60s. Don't know why the 1946 repro not lol, probably people after ww2 didnt care about visible selfedge details and denim was woven on narrow looms

          Cheers,
          David

Original lee denim had this characteristic vertical line fades formation whenever denim is stretched & strained, I guess Flathead created this, I do have HD Lee 101S, creating vertical  lines, look at these pictures carefully you may notice  vertical line fades

G, IH has so much love for type IIIs, it's very nice to see an interpretation of the Rider now. How about other options in the future? Maybe a ''modified'' Rider (longer in the body and with side pockets, similiar to the modern 101 Riders), made of 19 LHT (Lefty Rider ;D) or 21 oz so IH'll have another 21-oz-jacket besides the 526J?

@rohitsingh those fades look great.  Just to expand on what you said, in my experience you can/will get heavy vertical line fading on jeans using many of the denims made by Cone Mills.

Possible, but we have a shit load of jackets either available or imminent, so won't be for a while….

Glad to read that! One can see Type IIIs from almost every respectful Japanese brand but a well-made Rider was mostly nowhere to find… until now ;).

Can you reveal what those future jackets will be (besides the 526DD & 526SBG)? Or is it confidential yet?

That's a massive shipload of denim-jackets, aren't they competing too much with each other?

@BloodnThunder    I guess originally Cone Mills denim fades more evenly, but now days you see lot of variations… I do have few Cone Mills denim from LVC, Tellason and few other, mostly smooth & soft in texture, but I do have slim Lee101s, I guess its from Kaihara mill in Japan, initially it was smooth but within a month it started forming vertical lines mostly where it was stretched, but I know Flat Head denims create more prominent lines, look at the top most picture!!!

I've noticed that both louisbosco & Sam/IH jackets have the zig-zag stitching on the button-hole side of the placket.

Yet Winchy's has the zig-zag stitching on both the button & button-hole plackets.

                                          Any reason for this? Ta.
