Iron Heart - Retail Price Reductions

I agree. People griping about this not being fair is silly. That said, I suppose there is no shame in asking. Some businesses do offer money back when you buy something right before it goes in sale.

This is not a sale and in point of fact you will find that we are more than fair to people who buy something just before a sale. Usually, emailing them before they contact us.

Perhaps it was just people trying to scheme/justify their next IH purchase?
"Well there's now 10% off this…. If I can get 10% back off these things I just bought I'm halfway towards that black wabash workshirt, at which point they're practically giving it away and I'd be a fool not to"!

Right. I get that, but to many people it probably feels like one (especially people that are new to IH), and, therefore, they feel slighted. Judging by the comments on this thread, I bet there is a negative correlation between bitching and amount of time being a member of the forum. That is, longtime members don't complain, but rather see this as a good thing for the long run regarding future purchases and their faith in the brand. People who just bought IH for the first time and don't know the culture around here might feel ripped off (imagine if you bought multiple jeans/shirts for the first time on Sunday night).

Yes, I do get that, but here's the flip side
Imagine if someone had ordered a load of stuff on Sunday and I put the prices up on Monday and then sent out a supplementary invoice….
That's a good point.

No complaining here. Many Thanks!

I recall G had given a heads-up when he had to raise prices due to the stronger yen before. People were able to buy things before the prices went up. It goes both ways.

G…I was wondering why some items were reduced, while others were not. For example, the IH806s were reduced, while the IH805 or IH819 were not. Obviously, you can do whatever to want, just curious as to why. You can probably see my interest in these items in particular ;D. Cheers.

It mainly depended upon when the items were originally priced. If the retail price was calculated when the Yen was strong, then there was scope to reduce, if the item was priced when the yes was weak, then there was less scope. I also used this exercise to iron out some structural anomalies in the price list. Further, some items have historically had really poor margins, i did not reduce those. Indeed, in a couple of case I actually increased list price.
