I like my jackets fitted with room for a vest or a sweatshirt max. i am not a layering kinda guy using different layers like Shirts or jackets so yes would be a 36/small in IH jackets as I am in my IH shirts and i wear 38 in other japanese brands like real mccoys with a pit2pit of usually around 21" @zatemn
I tried a Medium in the Party jacket and it was too oversized on me for my taste because i don't like too much room overall and sleeves were way too long, the small gave me the right fit from the beginning. I also havent soaked my Party jacket so far will wear it for a while, shrinkage should be minimal with a soak and washing is probably not the best thing because of the patches -
Nice scores Arabit. I am 50/50 on the Party Jacket. I like the way that it looks on people, but I don't think that I could pull it off. Mind you this is coming from a guy who wears a bright yellow coat. Which reminds me that I still need to wax it some day…

I am usually an M in IH jackets and S in most IH shirts (all in all a Smallish M).
Went with 38 in this one precisely because of the sleeves, as you've mentioned: at 24.75'', it's at the limit for me. I could have pulled off an S in all measurements except the sleeves, so fingers crossed indeed!If I may further ask, did you find actual sleeve length as reported on the product page (23.76'' for S)?

It looked promising in pics but this thing is a frikking masterpiece in the flesh. Both fabrics feel and look spectacular in hand foretelling of great ageing potential, the combined weight is spot on for the cut of the jacket IMO and with a nice/right amount of crispness to it. More importantly it feels like one fabric or layer on either side (no floating to be noticed anywhere - hopefully it'll stay this way)
The patch hand-work as expected is very impressive:

Will be soaking in cold water and for a much shorter time - I can't afford it shrinking much. Hopefully it won't [emoji15]

Will take the plunge and soak it tomorrow. I agree, after revisiting the pics, there is clearly room to shrink indeed. Hopefully the sleeves won't be lifted too much though…The sizing table of the site indicates different shrinking patterns from I'd normally expect (Maybe has to do with two fabrics of different weights being joined together?) Will see [emoji52]More pics post soak…...!

@zatenm welcome to the Party man. Enjoy it much. Sorry havent Seen your follow up question re sleeves. I don't measure my stuff really, as most of it i try on irl. If it fits i am lucky. I wear mf since several years and all i have always fitted me just like i Love. Your jacket looks good have fun with it, i enjoy wearing both sides but the camo is killer big time. Be nice Sir, i would say go with mf soaking advice and take it from there if needed. I will not soak mine for a while til fabrics have molded in a bit.

I see what you mean regarding mf sizing, your fit is seriously spot on [emoji106][emoji106] I'd lucky to get anything close…!
