I'm going to read back through this thread to see if there are any but I'm looking for some brogue boot suggestions. Something like the Grenson Sharp (which I may go with once I figure out sizing). Most of the Tricker's I've seen are triple soled which is a bit much for me but I haven't seen them all. I keep an eye Leather Soul HI but they don't have anything right now and I'm going to search around some more but if anyone has a quick suggestion it'd be appreciated.

I've had a pair of Grenson Bleasdale's (the non-brogues) for nearly ten years, had them re-soled by Genson twice and still love wearing them. Easily the best boots I've ever bought.
Having said that, I love Blundstone boots for everyday wear. I've just bought new pair of 550's and they're just as good as the first pair, despite now being made in Thailand (which was a real blow to find out, but I'm addicted to them).

Mibbes a bit late on helping out guys but if you're interested in the 1000 milers (outstanding boots in the horween chromexel - I'll post a pic of my own shortly) then I know 2 sites the sell them:
Cultizm in Germany (but ship very fast) and Plumsoles in UK
http://www.plumsoles.co.uk/
http://www.cultizm.com/Watch out for sizing - I'm a standard UK9 and wear UK8s for these . . . think this is similar to a few other US boots

check these out for something from the eastern shores of the atlantic

. . . made to order and kinda without the wallet bustin' Buzz Rickson, Real McCoys price tags
and for something completely different
http://www.yuketen.com/products_maineguide_fw2010.html
the most comfortable boots I have ever worn - plus they look the absolute dogs b@llocks teamed with good denim with a good turn-up (in my humble opinion)

One thing about W/L boots is the lack of welted construction on most of their models. Inexpensive yes, but would be more challenging to resole/repair, if I understand things correctly. Pretty good selection though and they do have some construction looking offerings which are welted, if a little outside my style. Love the lack of visible branding. Also a significant dealbreaker in my attire of choice.
I really love the aesthetic of (some of)their designs, but can't seem to get over my hesitation even though I'm sure their repairable(most footwear is) to some degree.

you got it spot on with the construction
upside here is that WL will repair - and given that both Tim Little and Trickers have both charged me about 80 quid for re-soles on shoes I'm not thinking mega-cost or problem here
I'm hesitating, but only until I get IH gear I want . . . so hopefully l won't finding out the hard way!!

Here's a not very good shot of my Grenson Bleasdale boots, about ten years old and re-soled twice by the maker:
And a shot from A blog called Tower of Sleep:
Best boots I ever bought. Goodyear Commando sole, fantastic leather and they look great with jeans.
As a bonus, you can see the great hemming job Giles did on my new 634Ss.
