Great boots NNN. I would be interested in seeing some more of Nicks boots too. They have a lovely olive CXL that would look great in some work boots…..maybe once I recharge the funds a bit!;)

A bit of a hybrid, but roughly what you're looking at

That profile looks great, and the Muskhaven's are pretty much exactly what I had in mind (though I prefer a more curved heel). I've always suspected I'd like the western toe on the boss more than the MP; it's a nice low profile, classic look, without being too dainty or tight on the toes.

Thinking about a pair in black domain (lined?) with double midsole, half sole, 2-inch curved heel, 1-inch longer straps, brass roller buckles…

I have a pair of red wing engineers that crush my instep, and I've always thought I had relatively low profile feet, so I'm hesitant to try another engineer, but I love the look. The red wings are, overall, terribly uncomfortable in almost every way, so I'm not I should judge every engineer by them.

I've seen multiple combos, this just happened to be the first that fit the bill. You can find examples with a curved heel, an underslung walking heel, with a harness toe…etc I like most combos I've seen honestly

I prefer the MP toe to the western, it's less pointy.

Has anybody ever seen a boss with a western toe? Having a hard time finding pics that definitively show this configuration.

Boss boot with a Western Toe!

You think these are good, try nicks. Better then whites and wesco

Please look how the hooks on your Nicks are attached, then look how WESCO attach their hooks. Details like that makes WESCO my favorite boot-brand at the moment 🙂
If you don't like the look, that's fine, but quality wise is WESCO top notch.

I'm genuinely curious. How do wesco attach their hooks?

                        Sure!!!
Whites (Nicks uses the same) uses no grommets, I already pulled out one hook on another pair, a cobbler fixed it.

Wesco uses grommets to prevent pulling out of leather

                          thanks for that.

great detail easily missed by someone who doesn't own the boots.

I swear it feels like stealing if you happen to find something you like in your size.  A buddy of mine just got a pair of brown domain boss boots that spec'd out over $600 for ~$300.  I personally "stole" a pair of brown packers for ~$280.  My experience has been the blemishes are barely noticeable and typical of the wear and tear you might get in any case after some normal use.  Just saying…

@Bluegrass Will do. The two pairs of Wescos that I have are made to order so I don't know what my actual size is in Wescos. I'm sure I could get some advice from people on this forum and figure it out. And since I paid $100 for the custom fit, I kind of rationalized that I need two more pairs so I only paid $25 each for the fit!

I really want a pair of jobmasters with the Vibram 1010 sole (sorry Giles!) just for comfort for everyday use, and those don't seem to pop up on the seconds list too often, so I think I'll probably have to shell out the full price.

Take this man's advice. I'm just still unsure of my size. I had a pair a few years ago but I ended up returning them.

I'm an 8.5E in whites, 8.5E in Alden TrueBalance, and usually an 8.5 in Viberg's forgiving lasts(not the 2030).

                                            I feel like I should be a 9E.
