Where does everyone live?

First post right here. UK born and bred but have been livin in Grenoble, France for the last 8 years. Not yet been formally introduced to IH. Thinking of taking the plunge very soon though;)
Any advice will be gratefully accepted (especially from former Atelier LaDurance acolytes, if there are any here!?).

Bertoni: you can always ask me… You're probably wondering what size IH you have to buy if you've only worn ALD?.. Just let me know what model and what size ALD you've been wearing... And how it fits... And how you want the IHs to fit... Well: the more info the better

I still love the cuts I've got…just looking to change a little. Nearing 40 and am starting to wonder whether i can still pull off the looser look! I've got 2 pairs of ALD Royals in 32/33 (slightly too snug these days...one has stretched out a bit and is wearable..the other is sitting in my cupboard brand new). I've also got an 11oz Novelty (32x33 and perfect fit after one wash). A Frontier Jeanspaleis Limitée 32x33 (measures 36 though and fits perfect: MY FAVOURITE JEAN) and a Frontier Selvedge 32x33 which is HUGE but ok with a belt. I was thinking of an IH 634S to start off with...ease myself into a slimmer look (I don't EVER want spray ons...my shoulders are too broad...look like a golf club).
Having measured the waist on the Frontier JP Limitée which is spot on waist wise..I find that I no longer have an actual 32 waist but a whopping 36 (damn that french cuisine!). I want a looser look on the jean i'm about to buy.
What would you advise? What ALD have you got? Big difference in quality between IH and ALD? So many questions....Oh and was thinking of a shirt (western flannel)...how is the sizing/quality on those?

If you measured your waist as a 36", I'd go true to size on the 634s for a 'looser' fit… I always had Prescotts but know the Novelty and Royal are baggy fits, so you might have to adjust a bit... I'd suggest getting a 36 from Giles, try it on and if it doesn't fit you can always send it back... If it fits, get it hemmed to a 33" length.

Quality wise: there's no comparing the 11 or 14 oz jeans ALD used with the 21 oz IH uses really... Although you will be surprised with the softness of the fabric. 14 oz jeans feels paperthin after you're used to wearing 21 oz...

IH western shirts are of the highest quality. There's no comparing those with the small run of (China made) flannels ALD made... With the flannels I'd go true to size as well seeing as how you've big shoulders...
