Hey all sorry for the thread resurrect.

I had the opportunity to buy the sample of this jacket from Self Edge and wanted to post up my pictures.  Just got it today so zero days wear.  The only real difference between this sample and the production is: no leather patch, no interior selvage pocket, has been double paraffin wax coated.  Haraki-san did the wax coating himself.

In preparation for the winter (yeah, I prepare early), I've been thinking about giving my sexih18 its first soak. I know some of you soaked yours right when you got it. I'm curious about the benefits of doing this. Is it to shrink it? Loosen it up? Both? Should I soak mine? I'm very pleased with the fit, but it is certainly stiff. What do y'all recommend? Are there any other benefits to soaking it?

I gave mine a hot soak because it was dirty and needed a bit of a cleaning, didnt notice any shrinkage, but it made the denim even stiffer for the first few days of wear and made it extremely rough.  Felt more like sandpaper than denim for a day or two.  Water is good for denim tho I say if your thinking about soaking it just do it, wont hurt anything.

I fell off the edge of the earth for awhile but here are some evo pics from the wear I've given this baby. Its a lovely piece of gear but I don't get a chance to wear it as much as I'd like here in Alberta. With winters down to -40 and summers as hot as +30, we don't get much form the -5 to +15 range. Regardless I make it work as much as possible because it's just such a killer jacket. Cheers.

Wow! That's awesome. You have about twice the evo I do (my winter is about a month long). Thanks for sharing.

I don't recall ever seeing anything other than what was on the self edge page and I don't think they measure the same way. I would like to see something official as well. I can't answer your question but if I remember correctly I got the biggest one (which I think was a 44) and it fits a little small. I normally wear a xxl in IH shirts.

I tried on @madmonday final denim jacket. It is the nicest denim jacket I have ever seen. It definitely runs small about a size and half. I believe his was a 44 or 46.

If the length is ok you can probably get a little stretch in the chest.

Honestly I don't know. I just checked mine and it is a 44. If we can get the old measurements from SE I can compare with mine now. I would guess maybe 1/4 inch p2p. Have you tried emailing them?

I would email kiya. If anyone would have the measurements it would be him, and he is really quick at responding to emails

Thanks. It's a 44. If I remember correctly this might have been the largest size for this jacket.
