I always wash my jeans before the first wear. Agitation will get the cotton fibers moving more than just soaking and give you maximum shrinkage.  Plus it helps get rid of anything that might be in the fabric- starch, sizing, dust from sitting on a shelf, etc.  As long as you're careful about doing a gentle cycle and no spin cycle, there shouldn't be any adverse effects.

      Cool.

I have a very nice machine with a large, hollow space only. It should work perfectly.

You really have to wash these inside out if doing in a machine, if you don't it is almost 100% guaranteed that you will get streaking….

That's exactly what I did. No streaking as far as I can see.

The indigo on these are lighter than my Vulcans. Almost a purple-blue coloration, rather than deep-dark indigo/navy.

          Another question:

I did one medium-hot soak. I thought the water wasn't hot enough so I put these in the machine for two cycles in succession. With the hottest water option.

Should I expect any more shrinkage?

I'm really, really anal about my inseam length and would not want any unexpected shrinkage post-hemming.

I suspect you have got rid of all the shrinkage.

You are in between so decide whether you want tight or loose…..

I'm on day 22 of my 634s in 33. My waist is just a touch over 33 inches and these were a SUPER tight squeeze when I first put them on. They're still tight but they've relaxed to within reason. I could have gone with a 34 and gotten a looser fit, but I'm not sure they would have looked as good. The tighter fit, while a minor pain to get stretched out, is really working well for me. They're adopting that classic "tailored to your body" look already and with a Corter Leather utility belt they look extra bad-ass!

Now I have my eye on a pair of 666s…

For those that have these, did they loose much length in the rise with the shrink?

Don't know if it's just me, but they kinda remind me more of how the 25oz fade than the old 21/23oz.

We have no more of this denim and have no plans to re-weave until late 2016 at the earliest.

So, I've decided to wear my UHR for a bit before Spring comes on full and it'll be too hot until late Autumn/Winter.

And while similar to my Vulcans, I've never really experienced anything like this before.

The rigidness and uneven texture of the fabric is really interesting.

Is the uneven characteristic considered slub, or is it merely a feature of all loomstate denims? Namely this seems to be a feature of all denim that is uncalendered, and is unrelated to slub. I just want to make sure. I'm uncertain whether the uneven surface hand feel is caused by an unevenness or inconsistency in the yarn (which I understand to be "slub").
