A very odd one, as I knew it would be, but after hearing about it I bought it when I saw it to satisfy my curioustity.  Initial taste is nice, with notes of the bourbon and malt that the source beer provides. The moment you swallow it is extremely hot and somewhat unpleasant, but if you enjoy hot peppers the lingering aftertaste will be great.

This beer is a bourbon barrel aged stone double bastard, with jalapeños , black nagas, Caribbean red hots, moruga scorpions, ghosts, and fatalis added during the aging process. If you don't enjoy very hot food I wouldn't recommend it whatsoever. I'm currently about halfway through the initial glass and undecided as to whether or not I will finish it.

That beer actually sounds quite good.  From the reviews it sounds like a completely different beer that was probably a lot more drinkable. Even though I did enjoy aspects of the punishment I'd imagine that's only because I like extremely hot foods.

The punishment was more of an experience than an enjoyable beer.  I don't think stone really made it to be a traditionally "good" beer as it contains a ton of some of the hottest types of peppers in the world. I don t think I could adequately describe what drinking it was like. It really needs to be tasted and most likely not enjoyed to understand

Just need your address now and en route.

Makes me a little sad that this is what a lot of people think about when beer comes to mind…..

Yesterday, whilst @Geers, I was approached twice by people who thought I worked there. I helped them both, of course. My mates said it was because of the IHSH-98 I was wearing (with pen and knife in left chest pocket)…

I wish it was closerby, I'd def try and get a job there...  😃

Schneider Weisse Tap X Mein Eisbock Barrique - Schneider Aventinus Eisbock matured for 15 months in Pinot Noir Barrels.

Wow - this is the most challenging beer I've ever had… No carbonation. Murky, DIRTY brown... Sirup like consistency...

It's STELLAR... Lots of oak, wood,... I'm struggling to discover the Weizen-Eisbock they used through all the complex layers, but it's definitely there...

At 11,5 €/ (33cl!) bottle this is also one of the most expensive beer I've ever had... Nonetheless I'll need another half a dozen to cellar!..

Hah, I'm just following your lead. I'm still a beer newb.

I wanted some of those other TapX beers that you posted but have yet to find them. The porter was $20 so def not cheap here.

I think I might just get more Bernardus Christmas($15). The Whole Foods grocer I go to has a huge beer store and are having 20% off this Saturday only. Perfect time to stock up on Bernie!

Also, this was a fun read.

I just read that on your FB Urb, can't argue with the St Berny.

Interested to hear what you both think of that Porter too.

I've brewed my own Xmas beer this year with dark treacle and rum….sounds good I just hope it will be.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !
