After a hot wash my lot 44s didn't shrink much. Waist went from 34" to 33". Inseam 38" to 37". Everything else came down about .25". A little too roomy in the waist for me, so Im giving them a second hot wash now to see if I can get a little more shrinkage. Tempted to just pop them in the dryer on high but will resist that urge for now. I'll get some fit pics in a day or two.
-
You will probably get more shrinkage but I'd be hesitant to put em in the dryer.
-
@Jeef I've got a Metisse shirt, and can confirm it didn't shrink much. It's a lovely piece.
@seanocono and @Bluegrass the Metisse comes up in an XXL, which is enormous. 50.5" chest (about 25" pit-to-pit) according to Rivet and Hide. Given the lack of shrinkage, it'd work for you two big boys.
Lastly, there's a new black lambskin Campus Jacket.
-
Damn, that black campus coat is cool. The natural leather one is on my list for next year as long as they keep making it.
-
I won't put them in the dryer. Wouldn't want soft and wrinkly jeans or a fried patch. Or the disapproval of Christophe Loiron. The back cinch on these jeans will keep them up and I'm sure they'll look less baggy once they get some wear and creases. Got to embrace the full and manly cut of these jeans!
And that's a handsome jacket.

Thanks @Graeme that's about same as an IH XXX so I could probably do that with careful washing/hang drying. And assuming I don't eat my way to XXXXXX over the holidays!
And that is indeed a very handsome jacket!

Great fit all round there @ben2t

Yes the lambskin is awesome have seen and touched it live some days ago. Leather is very smooth. def a nice jacket. @Anesthetist afaik the natural cow will still be in production but with everything with MF you never know.
On another note the métis (not metisse) fabric have earlier been used also in some items from les apaches, like the vest, the work jacket and the pantaloon ouvrier. which reminds me I could possibly combine the métis sportsman with the pantaloon for a full smurf attack hihi
@ben2t cpo is great isn't it

I think nothing wrong with a tumble dry, all depends on personal choice. CL does it on some of his pieces too from what I remember. But yes use the cinch back for authentic fit @Jeef

@Friday thx bro these are the indigo métis pantalon ouvrier from les apaches theme. Sold out but think there are flying some around somewhere, ask the pancho guys maybe Mikko can help you out.
No i dont own any items from Viva la revolucion theme any more. Do you mean the americano trousers in corduroy? I could have a more detailed look at these next time for you. Indeed beautiful trousers in a classic 30's vibe

I just acquired a Faro Sack Coat, navy corduroy… hard to take pics.
This is my dad's "real" U.S. Navy watch cap from his service in the early 1950s. RIP Dad, 1933-2014.
@Bluegrass your faro coat looks great, i love the men of frontier items, specially the faro stuff. Much respect to your father and wear the watchcap with pride. Sorry to read about your loss. Take care.
Thx for your comment above -
Thanks David - appreciate the kind words. I'm really enjoying the sack coat, still figuring out the best way to wear it. I've found I don't like it over heavy IH shirts - much better with a lighter weight shirt or light sweater or long sleeve henley or T. It is such a cool jacket, perhaps a bit fashion-forward for me, but I don't feel out of sorts wearing it.
Now that I've got the bug, I have another jacket coming (chaparral blouse/brown), and some OG 107 chinos. Also coveting either the rider's dungarees or the lot 64 Okinawa issue jeans (can't decide). Measurements on both look like they'd work well for me. The 301 14oz denim sounds amazing.
-
@Bluegrass you cannot go wrong with the MF chinos. And obviously you need BOTH of those jeans, the only real decision is which one to get first.
Also, have you checked out the vaquero jeans? You might need those too.
