Those are fantastic - love the derby shoe - I hope I can score a pair someday, it seems like you have to catch them at just the right time when the hit Viberg.com (and when you can afford them  :)) unless you know of another source/retailer.  They have a nice black pair on the site now, but not my size (matte black calf).

I picked up a pair of the derbies during the last sample sale as well. They're made from unicorn leather on the 1035 last. I wasn't sold on the derbies until visited the factory and saw the upcoming natural CXL derbies for SF. I picked up the guidi horsehide service boots and the leather is amazing, i'm looking forward to the derbies in the same leather.

DiabolicaL….how is the 1035 last? How does it fit? What other last do you have from Viberg?

I'm typically a 8.5 with medium weight wool socks and these were a size 8 and they fit great with thinner dress socks. I find the 1035 to be quite similar to the 2030. I have 1035, 2030, Portland (Nigel Cabourn Apsley last) and 2045, I have a pair of boots on the 310 coming this week.

I bought a pair of the guidi tan horsehide and the grain is really inconsistent. Personally, I like it. You can see on the right boot that the texture is a lot more pronounced.

My first pair of Vibergs.

I've always had a soft spot for the Hiker, but they no longer held my size in stock. So when I contacted Guy at Viberg to see whether they'd be restocking the boot for the winter ahead. I was delighted to hear they indeed would be. So fresh of the production line. My brand new Viberg Hikers.
