I just love how simple this is - boil water, put silver and a spoon of regular table salt in tin foil - put in water - wait 30 seconds and done …if I'd paid more attention in Chemistry I would be able to remember the chemical reaction....

For those curious: it's not an actual chemical reaction. It's more of a physical process. Silver oxide has a higher affinity towards aluminum in a saltwater environment than to pure silver. You're kind of sort of electroplating here

I almost killed myself doing school assignment (practicing some rendering softwares), but after 3 days, at least it doesn't look that bad.

If you feel that there is still tarnish left, fresh salt and fresh water and new aluminum would probably work better.

Just as I said – I returned $360 bucks poorer. Here's me and Lacy standing in front of the vet clinic this morning -- waiting for her 9 AM appointment. This clinic is walking distance from my house, and Lacy's been going to this doc since the age of 3 (when I first moved to Oak-town, which was 7 years ago). I was actually still in my 30s when I first moved to Oakland...faint memory !

PS. I found my shoes. Sperry Topsiders ! They are light and comfortable as ever ! I wear em mostly sock-less, and walk a million miles in em. Ever since I've discovered Sperrys, I've kinda ditched the Danskos. I mean, I still have them…but I wear them less, and mostly only during the rainy Bay Area winters.

That's awesome ! Thanks Katsushin. I have a serious fondness for the 1970s era !! Don't know if you've ever watched the 2007 movie "Talk To Me" starring Don Cheatle – but he and his girl epitomize the look you're referring to in that movie...a look which I love.
