I am, 22 hours of fishing over 16 days has resulted in over 30lbs of fish!

Back on the river after a lovely weeks holiday in Bournemouth.

Lost a huge barbel, which went for a bit of garlic spam,to a snag in the weirpool,
then caught this on cheesepaste.

A lot smaller than your amazing catches! I can't imagine what that's like!

My only experience of sea fishing from a boat was being violently sick for a couple of hours off the coast of Cornwall when I was 13 (after a storm & a mint cornetto :D)

Nice looking tench (which I believe is the english word for the last fish)! I was very intrigued by it as a kid. I haven't been fishing at all this year, but that's gonna change soon. Visiting my parents in our cabin next week. The ocean is probably way warm, but hoping to catch a few pikes anyway

I will be lure fishing, jerkbait to be precise. The water is very shallow and I can no longer get my hands on a boat. The waters are supposedly famous for pike and sea trout, but I've always had shit luck haha.

I took a friend who wanted to catch his first  barbel to the weir last week.

I set him up and just watched and advised.

He managed a couple of babies, a trout and a couple of chub

Hopefully better luck next with another mate in two weeks time.

I've been staying away from the weir and fishing a local mill stream where some very big barbel come out.

No luck yet, but great location.

Thought Id give the barbel fishing a rest for a week or so;
I need a rest and a rethink if I'm going to get one over 10lbs.

I met my mate at a local backwater, he was on the stickfloat :

and I was on the light lures :

Quite refreshing.

I think I'll get the float rod out for a bit of stick float practice, as I've been invited to S'hampton in November for some Grayling fishing
