Thanks Cosmo, I'll check it out later today - dead easy to adjust.

well done. I know the Union comes with the automated hem folding thingemme - does it tell you how wide the folded part of the hem has to be or is this an adjustment / setting that you make ?

Beats, it tells me nothing, this is a voyage of self discovery!!!

              1)  The folder thingy is an optional extra
              2)  The one that I have has the compressed air option, which is a pain at the mo, as I don't have compressed air piping that fits the input on the machine table that distributes the compressed air to the places that it needs to get to.
              3) I worked out that I can bipass the compressed air option (if I want to) and re-engineer so that  the 2 functions that the compressed air automates will then be manual.  I worked this out by looking at photos of Harakis machine which does not have the compressed air upgrade.
              4) Once I have solved the compressed air issues, I can then see more clearly what adjuster does what and then work out how (it it is possible at all) to change the width of the folded part.

Thanks. G, I know you are still figuring out how to operate this piece of machinery, but are you perhaps planning on providing a general hemming service, or just one on all items IH & TW that get sold through your webstore?

I will also hem any other jean that is sent to me.  I have not determined how I will charge for this yet.  As soon as I do, I will post….G

Giles - that is some really exciting news!.. Was in need of a €uro-based chainstitching service… Knowing I will most likely buy all my future jeans through you, means I don't have to go out of my way to get them hemmed to a 34!..  😘
