      @derivative666:

Just started putting some time in these. I love them. Update at the end of the month.

I just picked up a pair of these as well. Since this winter doesn't want to end, I should still have a good month or two to do some work on them. Should I give them a good soak first? They're pretty damn stiff.

You could, but no need to soak… They will just tighten up a bit, the starch will wane and leave a ring in the tub...part of the fun !    IMO

        madmonday's retired….I'm just tired.

Breaking these is part of the experience in my opinion. The torture is proportional to what someone went through producing them, folks risked injury to give you this denim 😉

I've been wearing my 633s for the last few days to break them in after an initial soak, but tonight I put my XHS Devils back on and I was reminded that I may never like another pair of jeans more.

I like switching up cuts and fabric to keep things interesting, but this pair is my denim best friend.

I have seen some people say that the XHS is a bit more relaxed than the S…

A drunken beer bath results in a 3 month wash. Contrast is a bit brighter than pics show. Fit is back in shape too, maybe even a bit better than new.

Those are probably my favorite shoes, the natty moosehide is soft as butter.

                            Snowy,
Not as interesting as you might hope. Went out for the Mrs bday, drank a bit much, and fumbled a half glass of Oberon.

Haha, I'm not hatin'. They look comfortable as hell, just struck me funny because I'm used to seeing Vibergs, Red Wings, etc around the forum.

Didn't take it that way, so no worries. I can't wear boots all of the time anymore, so branching into other areas was a necessity of comfort.  Moccs won't win me any fashion awards, but that's not why I wear them.

It's been about 1 month in my first pair of Iron Hearts, no soaks/washes.  Here are some fit pics.  There isn't very much fading so I didn't bother taking any close-ups.  When I first got them I had to lie on my back to button them up, but they've loosened up nicely and are very comfy now.  I'm loving these jeans.

^Crazy stacks! Personally I think they would look better with a hem but you should wear em however you like of course.

Had to sell my 33s because the waist just didn't give me enough stretch. Really hated putting them in that box and watching them sail away. 😞 I plan to move on to a 34 in that imaginary day when I have money for all the jeans I want…and enough time to wear em!

I've noticed a lot more fading since my first wash. Otherwise it had been slow, and mostly major stress areas. It's still not quick, but is noticeably more post first wash.

Yeah, I know it looks a little sloppy compared to a nice hem, but I'm still young and I like the look.  Also I think stacking keeps me warm by preventing cold drafts of air in the winter from reaching my ankles.  I'm not a fan of cuffing, but I can always hem them.  However, I am curious… will allowing the stacks to settle now have any impact when/if I want to hem them in the future?

I see no reason why it should. I prefer stacks to cuffs, but IMHO you should hem 2" or so. You'd still have plenty of stacking, it just wouldn't be so over the top. Just my 2 cents, do what makes you happy.
