I'd been admiring these on Rakuten also.

In Finn's pic, I noticed something odd about the box. It says "St. Louis Missouri". However a google search doesn't show any Lone Wolf boots in Missouri or in the US.

What's up with the box labeling?

Japanese pay a lot of attention not only in the product also on labelling and package. They just love referring to heritage from USA
Here some Infos on this particular boots

While researching the St. Louis Missouri connection to Lone Wolf boots, I discovered Thorogood's, Made in the US, lace to toe Roofer boots.

Looks very similar to Lone Wolf carpenter model but at 1/3 the price (or even less if you get black not brown):

As I recall, Injun Jack has a pair of the Thorogood Roofers in the two tone brown and likes them a lot.  I know other forum members have had good experiences with other Thorogood models.  So if you like the look of those, you should feel confident about buying a pair.

Now that I look around a bit more, I like the smooth finish of the Wireman model:

                                http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/klax-on/item/lw01785-119/

Doesn't look like there's any US retailer where I could try them on. (I don't have great luck buying shoes online.)

You should be able to pick up Lone Wolf boots at Hinoya in Ueno, Tokyo.
