The Junky collabo seems to have some tiny lil diff details compared to the og 7161 like placing of coin pocket

        Yup, denimbro's picked up;
"Those 716's are slightly different. The originals had a blue chambray ID tag on the right ankle, not white cotton fabric. Also, the original did not have the hidden coin pocket in the front pocket, it was actually inside the jean! "

You see the diff also very good comparing cotton ducks og 7161 in his blog to the junky model

First and foremost, please pardon my poor english.

Finally I got one of my grail thanks to shane who willingly helped me(time and effort) without any condition or questions asked. Truly a good guy and a class act. Salute!!!!

It is a unique jacket which makes me want to have one besides an enquiring mind that wanted to know how good it really is in person, seeing a lot of praises given. Not to forget our MF man, the cool Davito who rocks this jacket so elegantly.

Now to a short review which I promised Davito. It is a size 42 which I think a 40 would fit me better. 1st impression, it is a very-very well made jacket and you can see and notice that every details are there for a reason and was thought carefully so that they execute their purpose effortlessly. For example, the Horsehide leather side and cuff cinch straps is not only for cosmetics reason but to my opinion was a very cleaver choice given how it needs a beautiful and strong material to handle the heavy wool blanket. Adjusting the straps requires less effort and it works like a charm. Even unstrapping my leather watch strap is not that smooth..  ::) The choice of using  the vintage NOS French metal slide buckles is also spot on. At 1st i thought it was a roller buckle because of how smooth the strap can be slipped in and out. Fantastic. Christophe and Sugar Cane definitely had done countless hours of brain storming when designing and picking what materials to be used.

The wool is definitely not heavy. Not as heavy as my amazing Iron Heart melton wool pea coat. But is surely is warm. The feeling and presence when putting it on is unavoidable. You just know that you are wearing something special and unique. Even the feeling when getting my 1st leather jacket is not that good. Although it might be because the sleeves length is a bit on the long side.  😉 😛

Christophe chose MFSC 100% cotton plaid, woven turquoise/white/red yarns as lining and personally I like it as it balances the heavy wool and makes it softer to the feel when you put it on. Its like the ´ying and yang´which balances and compliments both outer and inner of the jacket. Again, a very-very smart and well thought off. While the leather pocket trimming and leather detachable chin-strap, using a horsehide  😘 😘 just to show off the entire design and lift it to its own standard among many other jacket offerings out there.

All in all I love my jacket. Finally, you need to wear this jacket with confidence or else it will swallow you alive.  🙂

Tough, heavy and ready! = IRON HEART

Looking good Friday, I think the sizing is right for you.  Shane is a good fellow indeed.  I was late to the game and you got the last 42.

Mr Snowy, how does your Ranhero shirt compare to IH for sizing?  Will an XL MF post wash come out somewhat like an IH XL western you think?
(Sorry.. I'm shithouse at comprehending sizing charts)

Ranchero shirt sizing wont work for me most likely, so I just made my first MF purchases;  Sportsman Selvedge Chambray and a plain white tee.  Really looking forward to seeing them in person.

Wonderful Friday. That's a great fit for winter, should allow for some serious wearing in the worst of conditions. Quite the ultimate for sure, thanks for sharing your review/details. Hope to see much more of it!

Mild, I'm sure you'll enjoy :). I love my Sportsman Chambray and give it many wears in the office. The buttons on the sleeve are really nice. A great shirt for our climate. The tee's are a bit of a different fit to most modern cuts, but I find them to shape a really nice profile.

Got them nasty from some snow/ice/mud so soaking them now: pre-soak shots below:

Hi appfaff great evo coming through with that special purple shine on it. I was just thinking about mine today and need a bit warmer weather to get em out again. Gunslingers not liked by many but in fact its one of my fav MF trousers 🙂 imho

Thanks Summer and Davito!  I got the gunslinger on recommendation by John, as he said the shape would be flattering on me. My fav thing about the pants is the single pocket- Which was what actually freaked me out about them at first. The material is also great - it's light enough for warm weather but keeps the cool
Wind at bay as well. Not a cozy material like the 21oz IH denim but very practical for my everday wear. The color is truly amazing as well - the midnight denim was great and loved the hues from the indigo/black warp/weft, but I think the fading potential on these will surpass the original midnight fabric in the long run.

Appfaff totally agree with you, love the bellshape pocket, cinch back and fabric itself, as far as i remember correctly its milled from deadstock fabric dated back from the 20's. Have the desert one too really really great pants

A pic from spring last year in my indigo gunslingers and some other MF tops
