    @tigerpac:

    I wrestled with the same thing Lsash.  Ended up doing the "I'll just get everything over time so I know for sure" approach… so I have White's, Trickers and Alden boots but only wear the trickers and aldens into the office, the whites are just too hardcore for the office.

    @Bluegrass:

    i saw a pic on baker's Facebook page of kyle's wedding - it was he and all his groomsmen in matching white's semi-dress boots with their tuxes!

    I wear boots to work every day unless it's a trip to Indianapolis corp. HQ.  We have a business casual attire policy which includes denim, and I take full advantage.  But even if I have to wear dress pants I have some nice Billy Reid wing-tip ankle boots that work quite well.

    Thanks for sharing your experiences. Many of us love custom made things.

    I would like to share this with you guys.

            After months of lurking, here's my first pair of white's. It's not a custom boot - I had to get a stock pair on very short notice so I could have them shipped to my hotel during the week I spent in Vegas for the CES. That way I got around the enormous customs fees and shipping costs that would apply if I bought them directly from Germany.

            8" Farmer/Rancher in brown smooth, after a first few miles of break-in:

                @4c:

                Any blisters?

                Yes! My right little toe looked pretty bad after two days :-\ Stomping through the CES in new Whites was abit brutal after all. I then changed back into my Thorogood Lace-To-Toe Roofers for the rest of the show. With two layers of full grain rough-out, they're not exactly sissy shoes, but they felt like slippers in comparison 🙂
                My right foot is wider than the left one, so some initial discomfort
                wasn't unexpected… I sized 0.5 down from my usual 13D to a 12.5D. Length is perfect and with some more break-in these will be a great fit eventually. So I'm pretty happy with the outcome of my sizing lottery...
                I'll make some fit pics next time I wear them.

                  My right little toe too! 😉 Huge blister! Lol.. My dad said he had the same issue, but it goes away eventually.  😉

                      I have no experience with White's boots. I heard they run a little large.  I'm thinking of taking a gamble on a pair on ebay.

                      What size am I in White's if I'm a US 8.5D in Chippewa, Danner, etc.?

                      Here's the pair I'm looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whites-boots-/281250005473?pt=US_Men_s_Shoes&hash=item417bce81e1

                      They are an 8D.

                      Thanks!

                        -1/2 from your brannock size should do the trick

                          Thanks - I'm off to find a Brannock Device.

                            In contrast, my experience with the standard last SJs is they fit tts; #55 last, I've learned I need to size down 1/2

                                    1/2 down from Brannock in length for me too.

                                    EDIT:  4c, I'm feeling the blue.

                                      that's my pair. have them listed here as well in the buying and selling thread.  funny thing is I get traffic from some honest forum members on ebay and then I get the weird stalker dudes that bid and just sort of watch everything I do.

                                      in any event think they might be too small for you seth, but as previously stated everyone s feet are different

                                      head high, middle finger higher
