Its about 3 months.. Ive soaked them twice, so the shrinkage is under control 🙂
Yes, theyre kinda tight at the top, but I dont think I would be comfortable with a size-up, I think theyre baggy enough already 😛

The most irritating thing, is that the jeans will probably never be really comfortable because of that 😕

They look a big tight… You could always try wearing them without any underpants, it might give you a precious millimetre or 2 moving and breathing space.

I'm in the same boat as ropeadope. The crotch and the creases of my hips are the trouble areas. I also don't know how much more they will stretch, but it has gotten a little better.

uncomfortable crotch is a killer for me.

Anyways, I guess it will be more comfortable when it softens up, irregardless the tightness in the waist/crotch area

Just joined the 666 25 Oz owners club.
Got mine from Hannya1977…brand new pretty much.

The fit is perfect. I'm a 33. The tagged 32 fits perfectly.
Very nice sturdy pair of jeans indeed!

OK…so after a few days of wear I realized that they fit a bit too large
                      for me...and I 'd prefer a slimmer/more fitted fit.

                      I'm sure I can wear a tagged size 31...
Anybody wants to trade his 31 for my 32 (Tag size)?

I wanted to comment personally on sizing down in the 666XHS.

I sized down on these because I wanted to take advantage of a Self Edge online sale and they only had a 30 left in stock. (Impatience is not a virtue, I know)

I'm usually a 32 waist, but I've had luck in the past with other brands sizing down and breaking in / stretching out, so I went for it.

After one good wear, the waist was not an issue, but even after two weeks of pretty heavy wear the top block remains unrelenting. This is consistent with what I read about this particular denim, but there's no looking back.

I kind of wanted to test my mettle with this pair though and this is just one part of it. I'm just gonna wear 'em until they surrender.

I sat in the bathtub in mine for twenty minutes and then ride my bike all day. It helped a little. Water really softens them up a lot. Hang in there.

Ive soaked mine two times now, and almost 4 months of wear… not very much wear each day, because I wear a godamn uniform most of the day, but theyre getting softer and softer!
But the tightness around the crotch isnt getting anymore comfortable..

I have the same issue in crotch and creases of the hips. But I'm only two weeks in and haven't soaked. I just accept it and change out of them when it gets too much. Have you done anything that helped it? Just giving it time? Maybe a soak? Maybe, it's too slim a fit for me. I'm not sure yet.

Very much dig Dr Babyhorses (two pages up) fit. That's how a 666 should look like in my book, no way are they too tight!

Keep your jeans on–-and let nothing come in between you and the denim !

Let me preface by stating, I'm not usually into fanboy posting in forums like this. I have several staples in my wardrobe that I would never go out of my way to promote or brag on unless specifically asked about. Having said such, living in a more rural stretch of Michigan and finding quality garments is impossible. Having made my decision to invest in my first pair of quality selvedge denim in this bitter climate (-10℉ today) I knew such would be a challenge. After literally months of deliberations, reading reviews and forums, I knew Iron Heart would meet my expectations despite never having layed eyes on a pair. Being a bean pole, I also knew I needed something slim, though I prefer slim straight not skinny.  After checking (and re-checking) measurements I decided on the IH-666XHS, and moved to acquire a size 31 from Japan. After receiving them yesterday my initial impression was just how serious these things are. The fit is perfect, the color and construction is amazing. Given the climate, I live in a union suit from November to about April, so I expected the oft reported brutality of break in to be minimalist, the back of my knees and hips however fail to see a difference, and my thumbs are sore and blue from the fly. These things are epic on a completely different scale, and I want to thank everyone who has a hand in their existence, as well as the posters whose knowledge helped shape my decision. I am unabashedly now a fan of this company and look forward to the years I foresee ahead in your products.
