Obviously not beautiful enough for The Madame….

I know and thank you.  Just did not know how to do that.  I guess once I'd "solved" the problem, by buying more shit, my brain could function effectively & it was pretty tricky Googling "Sonos reset", I can tell you….

Glad you and P will be able to enjoy the Play1's now.  They're good separate but great as a stereo pair for the size

The plan is to have them set up as a stereo pair most of the time, but when we entertain and want to extend the range of the music (or have different music in different rooms), we'll split the pair.

Do those speakers just plug into the wall and connect to the network via iTunes it some native software?

Yes you plug in the speakers and connect them to your internet via a SONOS bridge or hardwire one SONOS component to your router via Ethernet cable.  From there you download or install SONOS's software to play from multiple sources.  Examples are songs on your phone, pandora, spotify or music from your computer all from the SONOS app.

It's by far the best wifi speaker system out there.  It's expandability is endless and you can play different music from every speaker if need be

Great to hear you got it working again G, at least you didn't have to send it back to someone to fix for money, that's the other positive here 🙂

Sonos in the bedroom = no more iPhone alarm clock for me. I've been using the Play:1 as my alarm since it's in the bedroom. I've not woken up listening to music since 1999, crazy nice to start with thumping drum and bass.

The way I use Sonos 99% of the time is to stream radio stations from TuneIN radio. Mrs Snowy uses it to stream local radio stations in the area..

We typically steam radio stations via spotify when in the office.  Aat home we typically stream music using Spotify, if I can't find what we want to listen to on Spotify, I revert to the music on our home server…

Anyone got thoughts on a stereo pair of Play 1s versus a single Play 5?

I did a quick A/B audition of them today, and the Play 1s sounded better. Both options are about the same price, and I was wondering if anyone had any better experience.

No first hand experience, but would go a pair of Play:1's. I didn't realize how good these sound in stereo until I hooked it up. Never knew it was missing and don't miss it on a single Play:3, but a pair adds a lot.

I do actually just listen a lot to other music besides music projects I am producing/engineering on this system. Big speakers are George Augspurgers JBL components, Midfields are Dynaudios, small Yamaha NS-10s.
Console is an API Legacy +. We record to Protools and 2" 24 track tape.
