                    Weird question here…
                    I hope it's understandable!

Is Geuze pronounced like Gooze, or Gerze?

                    Thanks!

It is okay to lay beers down instead of upright in the fridge?

Like Gerze, but without the R… You'll never get it right, though, cause you lot don't use the "Soft G"...

Aaah the good ole "up or down" question… For me, it's quite simple...

                          • anything with a cork = horizontal... Cork gets wet, expands, no air in the bottle = perfect for storing. If you wanna drink the bottle, you can either store it vertically for a couple of days before opening it, or when dealing with 37.5 cls bottles (geuze) you can just pour slowly and make sure the residue stays in the belly.

                          • anything with a regular cap = vertical/ upright.

Geuzes on the top and bottom shelf, saisons for "immediate" consumption in the door. They're not made to store for very long, and there's no chance of the cork drying out in my fridge, so they're kept vertically…

Speaking of St Feuillien, is this a "thing" everywhere?  This is the first year that I've seen these massive bottles being sold all over town.  The 9L was the biggest I've seen yet.  I've noticed Stone brewery putting out large format beers as well.

1.5 and 3 l bottles sure, haven't really seen any 9ls though… Good luck pouring from that as well...

Tomorrow morning I'm visiting my local beerstore... Local, as in "Two minute drive"... Expensive and not that good a selection but I'd be surprised if they didn't have the Delirium Christmas and that's what Im after  🙂

I actually went home empty handed that day.  I'm all for novelty but I just can't bring myself to spend $260 on a ridiculously oversized beer.
