It's only a coating Ben, rub it off with a key, a penny or a tool of your choosing. Good investment.

Great posts the last days - makes my craving for some whites stronger and stronger. Unfortunately I won't be able to afford them in the next months and I won't buy boots in the summer. But maybe next fall 🙂

Finally (second try) DHL managed to send my foot tracings to Bakers`. Kyle responded quickly and he recommends size 10EE.
            I was quite surprised by that - a have a 11.5US (10.5UK) in my Redwings 8138.

Most people here stated having the same sizes in RW and White´s. What do you guys think - maybe a correlation with my wide feet?

It´s the standard last and I am totally fine with EE. Was a little bit concerned about the massive difference in length so I got back to Kyle who then gave me the advice to take 10.5 instead of 10. Still a whole size in difference while most of guys here wearing RW´s and White´s in identical length.

^ If you've got quite wide feet then it probably makes sense, even a full size down. Every width up from the standard D adds somewhere in the the region of a half inch in total circumference to the boot which roughly translates to a couple of mm all over so two widths above the norm will also be increasing thee goth slightly at the same time. It has to work that way to keep te shape of the boot/ last in tact. Hope that helps.

Specmvl - I'm a 13 in RW and 12.5 in White's.  the 12.5 White's are roomy enough for thick socks.

Ohighyo - thnks, the #8 cxls look better and better every time I wear them - if there is such a thing as a "dressy" boot this is it.

Hey, could anyone tell me how to solve the problems as below?

I want to custom my cougar on http://buildaboot.com/.
But I can't find the leather named "Burgundy Chrome Excel by Horween".

And I sent a mail to them a week ago but get no reply.

                            sign…

But I can't find the "False Tongue" item on this page…Is that the default setting?
Actually, I want to mix 2 kinds of Horween leather, Burgundy & natural... But there is just brown. Is it equal to natural?

As far as I know, that's it.  Close trim is cut a little closer to the foot and only has room for a single row of stitching.  Standard trim has a little wider edge to the sole and has enough space for a double row of stitching.

Pal, I got the same question as you. I am 9D in RW 9111 and 9E in Wesco Jobmaster…

My experience is 1/2 size down, same width - but I'd encourage you to take the time and do the tracing.  Why take a chance with a $4-500 investment?  Even if you are looking on the aftermarket, send a tracing to Baker's - don't cost you anything but your time.
