I would love to, but right now my most pressing need is a new computer, followed by a new kitchen, followed by a new IH/TW summer 2014 shirt, followed by a pair of Samurai 710s for my birthday in 2014…

In an ideal world I'd love a pair of stacked Quad ESL 57s…

Unfortunately I don't have the space to fit them in.

What I'm planning on getting is a Sonos sound bar set-up when I get sorted into a new place. That will hopefully play nicely with my TV, and give me something that does music and movies pretty well. Then I'll just have to rip my CDs into a nice, lossless format and put them all on a server.

Just got a used set of Mackie HR 824 monitors. They're old but for about $400 used they're great.

For those of us who are in the Sonos camp. The Play:1 released today looks very very nice. I'm trying to work out if I should pick up 2 or 3. Would love to have internet radio streaming in the bathroom (which it's made to do!).

I got them Snowy.  Two actually.  They're great as a stereo pair but good at best separately

I may have to get a couple to complete my surround sound setup.

I'm looking into getting a Sonos sound-bar and surround system once I'm a bit more settled, and the new Play:1s are apparently their suggested rear speakers. From the What Hi-Fi review:

Sonos hasn't forgotten home cinema fans, either. You can add two Play:1 speakers to a Sonos Playbar and Sub setup to act as satellites and create a surround-sound system for your movies. Previously Play:3 speakers were suggested for this purpose, but Sonos has told us it sees Play:1s as a much better fit, particularly because of their form factor and cheaper price tag.

The Play:1 has been getting good press, but is universally considered to be much better when run as a stereo pair.

Pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Play:1. It's nearly $300AUD landed over this way vs $205AUD when purchased from Amazon. Of course Amazon won't ship to AU, which means I need to figure out a proxy and the cost of shipping from there to AU. It's 6 pounds. Well, that's my internal monologue for you.

You need a speaker or speakers from them as well as their bridge.  Don't have to have the bridge but if you don't you'll need at least one speaker directly connected to your modem to create a network.  Oh and you need Internet

Haha pretty much.  I also have 2 play3's.  Just as a reference.  I don't have a bridge currently because my wireless router is on my TV stand which is then directly connected to my playbar creating my SONOS network.

Thanks man I'm sure I will have plenty. Just starting researching now. I had a Yamaha YSP-1100 but, I needed more hdmi ports so that went to the bedroom. I replaced it with a Bose Cinemate but, the sound was never full like the Yamaha. This is what prompted me to look at Sonos. It's hard to run wires because I live in a townhouse and I like the minimalist approach of Sonos

If you're looking for TV sound then you have to have a playbar.  It's the only speaker with an optical connection.  I've said this before and I'll say it again.  If you're getting SONOS for just TV you might be disappointed.  It's really not perfected yet or may never be for TV.  SONOS is designed for music first and foremost
