I like the rivets and the taped fly.  Always such interesting details with Roy's products.

if you are near any Self Edge store please do your self a favor & stop in to inspect the goods.  Incredible store, smart helpful staff.

I have had some life changing events take place inside of SESF. The guys there are not just staff. On one of my first trips in there I spent a few hours chatting to Gino about life, the universe, and everything else. Have never experienced anything but the utmost respect from everyone there.

Same goes with SENY for me. Only been there twice in 2 years and Tomas actually remembered who i was a year later after our first meeting! (and i live nowhere near NY lol) He was very helpful during both my visits and i look forward to visiting again one day

If you don't mind spending all your rent money.  Haha.  Self-restraint is so difficult there, but I love SELA and can't wait to visit the Portland store.

yeah i didn't want to gush on about the staff but i've never had a bad experience with the people who are a part of the self edge movement. from the owners to the dudes like tomas that literally grind all day slinging denim & premium goods to a customer base that may have internet knowledge of what they are looking at/for then when they see the goods their minds are blown & everything they thought they knew goes out the window. smart & helpful & just a pleasure to spend your money with.

they need to give workshops on the hiring process cause they have the best staff & i've never visited any other kind of shop where the folks on the floor have so much knowledge about the goods being pushed. . . .

random but i'm about to be on a dry bones oxford binge. . . .

Also- the Self Edge store in NYC smells like shit. Seriously. So disappointed by that. I mean, they have what I wanted and Aman (I think that's his name) was helpful, but it fucking STUNK TO HIGH HELL.

Only time I've been there the dork behind the counter was being a huge dick. Another dude that works there tried to get in a friend of mine's face because their price for jean repair was more expensive than what they had on their website so he changed his mind after the dude wrote up a quote (I guess he was mad he wrote it up for nothing?). Worst store.

I also had a bad experience at Self Edge in Portland. Came in prepared to drop a grip on jeans & chinos, was ignored by the staff, not cool enough for jeans dudes I guess.

From another forum… SE came up and well not everyone was too happy about it...  :-\

has never been my experience. i come to find the internet is a weird place full of bizarro folks that may be the most timid in the real world & when they get on line they come alive & feel wronged and persecuted by everyone for everything.  not saying that's the case with the above comments, but i've never had a experience where i thought some one did something out of line & then went home & typed really hard on my keyboard about it.  not saying these folks didn't have valid experiences, just that i tend to look at the source of the information as much as the information

*this is not a paid message from selfedge but an honest endorsement from the mad one

And I've never thought NYC especially smelled like shit, just urine and hot garbage.  But maybe I haven't been to the good spots.

I've only had good experience with the staff at SENY. I've bought a couple pairs of jeans there and they were super helpful with getting the fit that I wanted. And I've had some repairs done too, which they always undercharged me for. Great shop. I wish I had more money to shop there more often. My only complaint would be that they don't stock enough IH stuff!

                                  From urban dictionary

                                  3. grip
$10,000. Named so due to the size of the wad of bills. Unlike a "stack" which is how 10 $100 bills are put together (in a stack), a grip is 10 stacks, only way to hold it is to grip it because its all rolled up.
"Walk around like I got a grip in my pants, yea thats about 10 stacks…" -Young Jeezy

                                  🙂 🙂 🙂

I didn't say I didn't know what it meant, I said I can't take someone who says it seriously.

Though now that I think about it a bit more, it does seem unlikely that he really went into the store ready and willing to spend ten thousand dollars on denim and chinos.  What is that, like 30 pairs?

Only on the Iron Heart forum do we have back to back gushing great reviews from multiple customers going to all four of our stores, then one dude (Seul) who has never been to any of our stores posts three bad reviews which aren't even his.  Too damn funny.

To those that had great experiences, we truly appreciate it.  I do not think you can get a better experience buying clothing at any other store in America, our stores feel different than other ones because of the environment we create and the way our employees treat our clients.  I want you to feel like you can go into the store and just talk about the product, and never feel like you have to buy something or have been a past customer to feel welcome.  When we opened in NY almost five years ago we had customer after customer say "you guys don't fit in here" in that we were too nice compared to other NY retailers, too welcoming, actually wanted to help.  It made me realize how different our retail environment is compared to others, so with the opening of SELA and SEPDX we went further and designed the stores to be places that felt even more like a store you wanted to hang out in, and not just shop.  Hope that worked, and hope to see you all again.
