2013 Autumn/Winter Pipeline

Soooo, when can we give our deposits?
-
-
I haven't seen mention of it for a while (and with my current bank balance, I've been afraid to ask), but is the IH Messenger bag coming out this Autumn?
-
TMG, that's kind of how I'm feeling. That's why I think some deposit action would really be helpful.

G,
If a blanket lined version came in a cut which fit like a XXL Levi's X Filson Trucker I'd have no choice but to pick one up! I've tried (as you well know) too many times to fit into the Type III's, I just hope one gets made for someone who wears XXL shirts, and some XXXL's, ha.
I really dig the details on this one, and I hope this sticks so we get some more versions with lining and dare I say pockets on the lined version:)
Cheers
Really love some of the details on the 101…..
Beautifully taped pocket reverse....
Lovely non rectangular shapes to the cinch strap and the cuff…

I hate you guys not getting what you want as much as you do. I have spent the last 6 years trying how to make things easier, I have not come up with a solution that works. If someone has an idea that will help, then I am all ears, but so far no one has come up with a way that works.

G - What if a full deposit could buy you a ticket to a "pre-sale" where there would be 24 hours to exclusively use the newly published charts before the inventory is released to the public? If you make a deposit, but you don't get in touch with the IH in the given "pre-sale" window, your slot is forfeited and you have to get in line like the rest of us.
That'll give those who are chomping at the bit for a particular item a chance to get it and feel like they've done their due diligence. It can be on a first come, first served basis too.
-
That is something that may work, let me have a think…I have to balance ease of access with complexity of implementation. The problem is, if we make a mistake (and yes, we do) and screw somebody over, the hate that comes our way is far greater than the love when we get it right...
-
That makes sense, and it's not an easy position to be in. It's just a thought, and if you're able to find a way for it work that doesn't make your life harder then it may be worth looking into. You can't please everybody all of time, which makes your job all that much harder.

The first thing I would do is start with Google Forms https://support.google.com/drive/answer/87809?hl=en its a simple way of setting up easy surveys on the product page to first get an indication of the interest in that sample product. A lot of waste will be saved here alone. First you need to know if the product is wanted or not, once you learn how many people have come to the page, and how many people have clicked yes or no, you can see the interest there for a start. Then if you have a high hit rate to that page and a high hit rate to the survey and a high hit rate to YES I'd move to second tier of questions with a form which may have features. For example Lee 101j lined, unlined or both. Again you check the number of people who have hit the page (interest), then hit the survey (more interest), then filed out the survey (serious interest), then clicked lined and from those numbers you can indicate the interest and the core amount of buyers and what they want. Sure you can't guarantee they will buy, although I would incetivise them with a much lower rate on the product if they put money down now and save X % on it before it goes into production, however you will know for certain what people want and how badly they want it by adding these forms to all sample pages. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if I get this idea. What if more people hit the "pre-Sale" window than there are articles? Isn't it just an early date for the sale? What if somebody is a frequent buyer, but active only in the webshop and misses the presale option? You will end up with disappointed guys nevertheless. It seems more fair to me, to set a certain date when stuff goes online and then it's first come, first serve.
This leaves the problem, that one would have to buy all items that show up when they hit. You can't spread the purchases over weeks or months, waiting when your account is balanced again. It would help, when new stuff would hit the shelves regularly instead of the flood every spring or fall.Unfortunately I have no freakin idea how to solve this…instead of becoming rich (so I can buy all when it hits the shelves) and spend even more time online to grab my share in time. From a businessman's view, I think you're doing all you can, G.

I think that's a good idea, at an early point and would at least bring us a sufficient amount of items. It could end up almost in a form of crowdfunding, when 50 guys show interest in a lined stormrider and commit to buying one by paying 50% of the price.

Yeah, like I said…spreading the releases could help us customers who want to buy more items but can't afford them immediately. But, I assume you can lower the shipping costs when you get a lot of stuff at once and you sell a lot of it the minute you put it online. So there's no point in changing the current system, as this would result in lowering the margins, I guess.
-
ughh…. that 101j is going to be impossible to pass up... Looks like Ill be grabbing this as well as the type III LHT so long as the measurements are cooperative.
-
I'm definitely tempted. I spent my high school years in Storm Riders and still have a 50L if anyone is interested - yours for the shipping.
