5000VX: I only had those in 17 oz I think… I'm pretty sure the cut on the 634S'es is a fuller one, especially thigh-wise... That is if you go true to size (which I'd advice)... The 634SRs are defo a fuller cut but no longer available so...

the thighs are bigger…more room

IMO, there is not that much difference between the 634 and 5000 cut. Both are midrise straight cuts, somewhat 66 inspired (but not as slim as many other 66 models). However, I owned the 634 in 32 and 33 and my 5000 is 34. If sized like that, the thighs are also pretty similar. The Samurai 21 oz denim fades great and pretty quick, whereas the IH is harder to fade (generally speaking). The Samurai denim is a tad stiffer and slubbier, although it doesn't make much difference on heavy denim.

Oh I see. Thank you guys. Therefore I can say that the 2 denims are somewhat similar just that IH are harder to break in as compare to samurai? So IH are more durable? Cos in the past my nudie there is a hole at the crouch area. So now I going for more durable jeans. Which I can say that IH will be a better choice?

Decided to give my 15th anni 17oz s5000vx a second chance today.

Wow tat, those look amazing on you! What a fit!

thanks for the kind words BH… Im much happier this go around. I think once they settle in the right places these might become one of my favorites.
-
Absolutely, they're perfect on you, with age they'll be epic.

Denimrox - I wore the S5000VX 21oz for two years and they are quite a bit tighter than the 634s when sized the same in the waist. From what you are saying my honest impartial advice would be to investigate maybe sizing up one in the 21oz S5000, if you are adamant on raw jeans.
If you are not adamant then the 634 is a more versatile cut in my opinion and looks better with boots, for want of a better phrase I would say that the s5000 is a more modern cut.

I remember reading something b_F posted either here or on Sufu a while back and it had really stuck with me regarding siZing… More important than waist is the thigh measurement... So like mega said maybe size up in the s5000vx to get the right thigh measurement and use a belt. Either way waist can stretch it be belted to an extant but thigh is not nearly as forgiving.

Denimrox, Mega speaks the the truth. I have a pair of S5000VX 24 oz. that I got in a 34 waist, they shrunk to
about a 32 1/2. Size up in this cut for sure.
