Yes, it's an olive tree - just got back from 2 days away in London and Dublin and a 5 foot olive tree has miraculously appeared in our garden!  Nice one, G!

No, do not know the age but I suspect pretty old, the trunk is massive.  We don't actually care whether it produces fruit, we just love the shape, form amd colour.  Having said that, it does have a lot of fruit on it…G
