Staying on the subject of unpopular opinions I propose that Foo Fighters are, more or less, one of the most boring, unoriginal and completely over rated bands I've ever heard. In short they're a pile of shite. Cannot understand the esteem in which they are held. That is all.

              For now….

I once heard them described as the creative equivalent of The Silver Bullet Band, minus Bob Seger.

Their first album had a few solid, if Nirvana-lite, songs.  Since then it's been one long, steady suck.

Seriously?  Even Nevermind?  That is a strong statement.

I like the new Miley Cyrus songs…especially the one with Snoop Lion. There, I said it. It feels good to get that off my chest.

Hate to admit this but…. I'm right there with you

i'm not a huge fan of nevermind either.  bleach and in utero are infinitely more interesting records.

I think the reason why Foo Fighters work is they're a completely unpretentious pop-rock band and they aren't ashamed of it. Coming out of Nirvana, Dave Grohl had all the indie cred in the world (first Foo Fighters tour was opening for/acting as Mike Watt's band), and could have stayed in that realm. Instead, it's been 20 years of big fun riffs and big fun drums.

That, and by all accounts he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet.
