    Ladies and gentlemen

I just ordered a couple of Iron Hearts pants and cant wait to receive those.
I'm new to this and do not intend to offend anyone, but I have this nagging question. What is your opinion of Samurai jeans and how do they compare with Iron Heart jeans of the same weight?
    Thank you

I've had about 6 or 7 different Samurai jeans and have only 1 Iron Heart but the simple answer is: you'll be happy with Samurai, you'll feel completed with Iron Hearts.

Samurai imho has only 1 good model: 710xx. The old, indigo model that is. Samurai is slubby, hairy, but softens up a lot.

Iron Heart jeans are stubborn, and they stay that way. You adjust to a pair of IHs, and not the other way around.

Sorry if this all sounds a bit incoherent, or random, I just watched Barcelona lose to Milano and am not in my best mood  😠

I own a pair of Samurais (S0510XX) and a pair of Ironhearts (SEXIH07) in the same weight of denim (19 oz.). I haven't gotten around to soaking or wearing either pair yet, but my impressions are that, at least in the raw state, the Samurais are slubbier and have a looser weave than the IHs. The IH denim feels thicker and seems a bit more durable than the Samurais, but I won't know for sure until I really start wearing them.

EDIT: Listed wrong Samurai model accidentally.

Samurai does make great jeans - and great denim.

Have both the heaviest pair that both companies do ie 510xx v 634SR's and i've yet to wear both, first impressions of both are in terms of finish the 634's have it by quite a distance, other than that i can only agree with Commodorewheeler has said.

Heavy Duty, I am assuming that you have the 24 oz. S510XX? I've been curious to know, is the 24 oz. Samurai denim thicker in the raw state than the 23 oz. 634SR denim?

Yes it's the S510XX i have. Good question that, i'd say yes the Sam's feel thicker and feel they'd be easier to break in than the IH. Pre/post soak the stiffness/thickness in the Sam's did not change that much at all, the IH went from rather soft for the weight to something akin to 3layer ventile when wet.

I've never handled the 24 oz. Samurai denim before, but I will say the Samurai's 21 oz. denim is surprisingly soft and un-slubby, even after soaking/washing.

Going to make both of them a special project when i finally get round to wearing them.

Oh and slighty off topic i noticed you mentioning SDA on another thread, the 1405's have caught my eye have you saw those up close?

I got 710bk and 510xx21oz-10SP from my experience Sammy's easier to break and if you wanna get high contrast or just wash them frequently to get the vintage fade effect , but still Iron heart feels more comfort for daily activity and no one beat the durability of IH ..

I actually have a pair of the D1405 in my stock pile. Like most SDAs, the D1405 is really nicely put together. Denim reminds me a little bit of the Samurai 21 oz. as far as I can tell. It's a fairly roomy and fairly high-waisted cut, similar to the S0510XX IMO.

Actually, I might be willing to part with mine if you are interested. They are size 34, and they are new with tags.

Hmm might take you up on that, but i have also been told the 1466's are very nice up close despite the fact that they have a zipper which would normally put me right off them, and back on topic i hear soon to be  Sam 5000GT-X are awesome.

You are talking about the Kojima model, right? I have not seen those up close, but I like the cut on them, at least from what I can see in pics, and the denim does sound unique. I have to admit that I never seriously considered getting them, though, because they have a zip fly, and because the denim is a little bit lighter than what I normally buy. If you like zip flies, check out the XXX-26, I think those look really nice, from what I've seen in pics, and the zipper on those looks like premium quality. They are really pricey though.

The Samurai S5000GX-Ts are already out, actually, and they are indeed really nice. I have a pair of those in my stock pile as well.

Those GT's did you get yours direct from Japan, because as far as i was aware there are none available outside JPN as yet, or have i been misinformed??

I got mine at Blue in Green. They've had sizes 28-33 in stock for about 2 weeks now.

Cool. Was told they are LE to 400 and that BiG only got two pairs per size.

You're right, they are limited to 400, and I think you're also right about BiG only getting 2 of each size. I was thinking of getting a 34 instead of a 33 but they had already sold both of their pairs of the 34 when I was inquiring, so that made my choice easier.

Haven't had a chance to take any pics of them other than a few comparisons between them and the 5000AI-10SPs that I posted on a couple of other forums. I haven't started wearing them yet either (they're still in the stock pile), but I can say that I am impressed with their quality. Like any Samurai jean, they are put together really nicely, and certain details, such as the engraving on the buttons, are very impressive. The denim is 17 oz, and with the persimmon juice-dyed weft yarns, the jeans have a little bit of a purplish hue compared to normal jeans. I like these a lot so far.
