You're welcome, Monday. Glad to spread some knowledge of this brand. IMHO Himel Brothers represents the pinnacle of leather jacket craftsmanship.
I forgot to mention in my review that the horsehide is from the Shinki Tannery in Japan, the same source for all the Real McCoy's vintage jacket repros.

I wonder whether DH and JC have opportunities to order or commission special shades of HH from Shinki?
Probably not the latter, maybe the former? It seems that brands like Rainbow Country and Freewheelers definitely have the former and probably even the latter.
Hmmm…..We need to do a tour of Shinki!
Or, barring that, it would be very interesting to see a catalog of what hides they produce/have produced. -
I don't know, I suspect that ordering special shades is too difficult for the smaller operators like DH and JC as the volumes that they purchase are way too small. This is just speculation on my part, however.
I'm possibly heading to Japan later in the year so would definately be up for a visit to horsehide-land or, at the very least, a get together to compare notes on jackets.

Dayum. They look awesome. Any idea on price?
i asked him about pricing and if any customizing was available
"nah…just black and brown....they are super expensive to make...best japanese horse ass in the world...I can only get 50 pcs a year of horse butt" thats direct from our conversation about them
