I follow the Roy thread on SuFu and I get really tempted, but the measurements for both the RS and RN scare me.

I think they may need one more soak, but the fit is very nice!

That's a really solid look, RP. Those boots are killer, but you already knew that. I'm curious what your thoughts are on the RS-04? Based purely on measurements, I like it better than the latest model. I've held them, while new, but never seen a developed pair, in person.

I agree, Anesthetist. They are really nice, and I'm happy I took the leap. They are so nice, in fact, that I'm considering a RS-04 as my summer pair. Can anyone give long-term impressions of the 14.5oz. Cone Mills denim, and how it compares to the IH 21oz.? I am amazed at how cool the 21oz still runs, despite its weight. I could probably still wear the 21oz. comfortably throughout the summer, if I wanted. Still, I'm curious about the Roy's. I've held the RS-04, and the denim is definitely lighter, and thinner, but I've read that it has a really tight weave. Basically, I'm wondering how it breathes, how it breaks in, fades, etc.. Thanks, in advance.

Clint, It took 3 hot soaks to get all the shrink out of my RS04's, so the SF-01 will most likely react that same.

hmmm. I'll probably do another soak soon in that case.. There's plenty of room for them to shrink some more.

                                thanks for the heads up.

I got a pair of the SF01 ones last week but I haven't soaked them yet. Did they loose that grey tint when you soaked them? Did the length actually shrink 3 inches?

Im lookin at some sfo1's myself and am curious as to how breathable his 14.5oz is. Could they be a decent warm weather jean?

Weave is as tight as Cone could do (per SE and Roy) and it gains, almost 2oz after the soak, so it's prob not the best summer jean. The 666L on the other hand is LHT, so it will be a looser weave. I really like you 666XHS fit, PP. I think the 666L would look dope on you.

Hottest pair of jeans I've owned was a pair made from 13 oz Cone denim.  Not breathable in the least; felt like wearing pants made out of a shower curtain.

If these are heavier and the tightest weave Cone could make, they are gonna be unpleasant to wear in warm weather.  Might be a sleeper hit for winter…

Thanks for the insight, MikeC and Chris. I had been considering the RS-04 for summer, but you just talked me out of it. I may just see how the 21oz holds up in the heat.
