I have a GR1 and GR1 Field I have used many packs in my day Gregory, Osprey, Arc'Teryx etc…  I believe this is the perfect day pack whether your hitting the trails or pounding the pavement this pack can do everything. The back compartment houses a 3L hydration bladder or 17" MacBook Pro.  Inside their is plenty of pockets for storage. & Molle webbing to attach things including GR1 Field.

GR1 Field is a perfect gadget holder for handheld game devices, toiletries or 1st aid kit, compass etc...

IMO it doesn't get any better than GORUCK. I see a GR2 and Brick Bag in my future. When I go out for multi day hikes and camping.

d666, that is simultaneously what I had hoped to hear, but also feared the most. Meaning, I need at least one of these by camping season. I go back and forth between the GR1 and GR2. I know that I would use the GR1 more, as it's more versatile; but the GR2 is best for, as you said, multi-day hikes. It's a great problem to have, but a problem, nonetheless.

I appreciate your thoughts, d666. The Java must have been a relatively new release. I don't remember seeing it last time I was on the site. It is already sold out, though (GR2). I actually like the Coyote color, as well.

I used my GR1 as both hand luggage and a daypack whilst travelling to, and in Jakarta. As hand luggage I completely rammed it, as I didn't want to put any of my precious or delicate things into my case, so it held…..

It was pretty full, and really heavy, but not at all uncomfortable, and it NEVER slipped from my shoulders. The strap design is one of the best design features, no need at all for additional fastenings or straps.

Nice. I bought one of these and really liked it but unfortunately had to return it. Not a good fit for my small head.

I have used the RR Field as a laptop accessory pouch for a while now and it is perfect. Holds a charger, wireless mouse, phone charger, spare pens and a few other small items. Makes it easy to move the laptop from bag to bag and have all of the essentials.
