if you want some pain you MIGHT get a 31 to stretch to 32, but i dunno.  i know my tag 32s measure pretty much exactly 32 now after lots of wear.

Sizing is such a nightmare sometimes for the first time buyer, I always have such sympathy, its fucking agonising.

In my experience the 21oz will stretch readily, certainly one inch.

Not detracting from Mumbles experience but I would still go for a 31.

yea i'm not saying you're wrong hectic.  i believe a tag 31, measuring 30 can be pushed to 32 and i guess i really shouldn't comment on how difficult that may be because my tag 32, measuring 31 new, 32 now wasn't very tight to begin with and i wore a belt.

Course man, its all subjective to a degree anyway. That said, based specifically on what Pushragner said, I recommended the 31.

I'm not really afraid of the pain, as long as the jeans get comfortable after a while. And my current jeans feels a bit too wide anyways. If the 31s expand one inch I think I will be all right.

Thanks for the help. I will have to think it over some more, but I'll probably go for 31. I'll post some fitpics if I make a purchase.

Hi guys, sorry this might be off topic.although i'm asking for the beatle buster for the HWDC2,i guess i can ask here still about the beatle buster.
i'm uncertain regarding the waist size of 36 and 38.
my actual waist is a 36.5+ to 37.the tagged 36 in IH is actually 35.if i take those, would it really stretch to 36.5+?or should i just take the 38 tag?
about taking the 38 tag is just i'm worried about the fit might change cause of the measurements on the thigh, knees, leg is quite 3-4 inches larger than my actual measurement.
                  helllp please… 😃

Best answer is to measure your best fitting pair like IH does, and compare the measurements.

Get the 32, not the 31… I tried to do that with my 634s. They fit okay now but only after I lost 10 lbs.

Yeah, the discussion above is slightly confusing as Hectic agrees with Giles but actually suggests something different! If you want BB that will stretch out to a 32" waist, buy the tagged 32 which measure 31" in the waist when new.

My general point is that the 21oz is very amenable to some stretch.

Well, I chickened out and ordered a size 32 on sunday. I got my Beatle Busters yesterday and I'm quite happy. The jeans fit very comfortably, but they should probably have been a size 31 for that perfect fit when they stretch out. The fabric is not so stiff as I expected, being new to 21 oz and all, and that is a bonus. I also like the feel and texture of the denim. Another plus is that the pants are really warm here in Oslo where it is minus 10 degrees c.

Honestly, that's a really good fit. I also bought Busters in a tagged 32 and although the waist was a little too big, the fit elsewhere was exactly what I wanted. Better than to have a larger waist than spray-on thighs in my opinion. If you wear a belt, it's not like the waist will stretch an enormous amount and it will tighten up again with a wash.
