Couldn't figure whether this goes in random rants or random announcements. Since it's already too long, I figure Rants.
Over time Giles has written 2 things that have stuck w/me. 1) buy your size. and go with the maker's fit. If it doesn't, then it's not the jeans for you. I once didn't do this (sized up in a lower rise pair) and have regretted it: just should have owned up, that jean/cut wasn't for me. 2) 17 oz is about as heavy as you really want/need in raw. I have not followed this and have 17, 18, 19 and 21, and yes, they all work, and I like them all, but practically speaking (the deep down part of the old brain I used to have) I think he's right…17 is about optimal, even maybe 18, when it comes to raw (as opposed to sanforized), without the jeans becoming some extra something-or-other you are conscious of. These low-mid 20-somethings in Raw....well, challenge is always motivating, perseverance a fine trait, and the will can be a wonderful thing.....but sometimes nature has to win.

21 oz sanforized IH denim is wonderful stuff. The more it breaks in, the better it gets (and it's really soft and excellent right from the start). Other than that, I agree with your post fully.

I don't understand why UPS even offers 2nd Day Air during the holiday season if, in fact, they mean 5 Day fucking headache. Also, if you say the package is in your warehouse and that I can come get it, make sure it's there assholes. And another thing, hire more people to answer your phones. Been calling a few times an hour since 2pm and nothing except robots want to talk.

I got the busy signal for the first few hours. Then, all of a sudden it was a lady telling me some bullshit excuse.
Oh well. Hopefully I'll get my package on monday.

ok, where to start!…
since my little brother is asking me more and more about my cam and all, we decided to buy him one for christmas (Nikon D3100 Body)...so i´ve searched the net and copped one the other day, hoping that it will arrive before christmas eve!...
so today was the day the package arrived. i was on the way home from the gf, while mum was setting up the last few things at home, so she was pretty busy as the postcar arrived, handed over the cash and signed for the package in a hurry and placed it on the kitchen table. i came home and the first thing we did was that we`ve openend the box in hope to checkout the new camera body i´ve copped...surprise surprise...that motherfucker was empty!
just the bill and thousands of polystyrene chips flying around in it!...wtf? we`ve spent 300€ and all we found was an empty-ass package!...
drove to the postoffice in a hurry and the first thing they´ve noticed was that "someone" opened the package before it´s arrival and wrapped it up with a different type of duct tape on the bottom...
long story short, we were able to find the mail van and the mailwoman which handed out the package, talked to her, returned the empty package and got back the 300€ cash!...
can´t believe this shit and for this time, i´m really happy to live in a small village where we know our mail men and women good enough, to make them take back a package which was already signed for and return the cash...

Here is my first and hopefully only addition to this thread…
After two months on the road where i survived a van crash on black ice at 55 mph in the mountains of oregon, slept about 3 hours a night, got bronchitis, then got a sinus infection, then the flu, knocked my knee out of the joint, got smashed in the eye with a microphone, froze my ass off because i lost my jacket, and had two amps blow.... i finally came home two days before christmas. it felt amazing to finally be back in my house with my lady and finally sleep in my own bed again.
i woke up christmas eve with a fever and have been violently puking ever since. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A TOILET BOWL FULL OF VOMIT!
seriously though...happy holidays everybody.
