I have decided it's time to simplify my life.  I will be selling all my current "good" watches and using the funds to buy just one watch I can wear all the time.  So the following will be being sold:

2 x Breitling Chronomats - both stainless steel
1 x Patek Philippe vintage (1954) gold manual wind calatrava
1 x JLC gold, time/date/day/month/moonphase with JLC deployant clasp

If you have a serious interest in any of these, PM me.

What are you thinking of getting as your everyday watch, Giles?

It will be my only watch (apart from a couple of Seikos).

Something that I can treat like shit and just know it will keep on going, so this….

I'll make way more than the cost of the 50 fathoms selling the 4 watches that I have.  The Patek and The JLC I picked up very well about 10 years ago, will have made a lot on both of those.  I'll lose on the Breitlings, but on balance I will be up….

One of my grail… Great choice G-San.

Have you checked the AP royal oak divers lineups?
                    Not fancying any PAM's?

I dislike Pams, everyone wears them.

Do't like the Royal Oak design.  I know it is a true classic,, but it does nothing for me.

But mostly, I agree with the choice of the Blancpain.  The Fifty Fathoms is a brilliant watch with a wonderful history.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it…

Stunning BP Mr G, a true classic.

Funny thing about the "everyone wears them"-saying, I guess it's very dependant on the country/area where you happen to work/live. Over here hardly anyone has nice watches, but the most common ones are definitely Omega Bond Seamasters and Speedmasters with the odd Tag Heuer Carrera here and there. Very few Breitlings or Pams spotted in the wild and from what I gather they're very common in the UK for example. In Italy I've spotted loads and loads of Rolexes and Panerais while on vacation…

You should hit the US for PAMs, at an SE party they're 10 a penny…...

Yes, I did spot shed loads of them at the NYC gathering.  Couple of Rolexes, Omegas and Tags, too.  No Blancpains, though.:)

Looks like they have been through a beating and still survive. That's what any Seiko can offer you. I've asked because I thought that Haraki-San might introduce some Japanese timepiece besides the clothing and such. Maybe the BOSS is more into rolexes than a seiko.

A WIS which I am not,  would tell you that a Grand Seiko is on par if not better than any big brands i.e. Rolex,JLC,Omega, and the lists goes on.. It terms of craftmanship as well as accuracy. Handmade by a watchmaster.  Anyway, I would love to have this Grand Seiko one day. Hopefully, the 50 fathoms 1st… 😉

Grand Seiko is a great alternative IMO, they have that spring drive thingy that sweeps completely smoothly.

                                          Now I want one sadface
