Is that the UK equivalent of Olde English Malt Liqueur?

Is that a drink brand in the UK, or are you talking about moonshine?  Because if you're talking about moonshine, that's what my bad teenage memories include.  That, and piña coladas made with everclear…

White Lightning's a very strong and very cheap cider 'brand' (in the loosest sense of the word) here in the UK.  Not even sure if it's still going (it was in my 90s student days)

Drunk mainly by low income wastrels, a large proportion of which were the aforementioned students.  Nasty stuff, especially lethal when combined with low quality strong lager in homebrew-style 'snakebite'.

The best part about it is that it comes in 3 litre pop bottles. When I was studying in the UK, we had a White Lightning challenge. First one to finish their bottle won…I don't remember much, but the corrosive taste of victory!!!

So a lot like moonshine and everclear, then. 😃

I apologise on behalf of England for White Lightning.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Gregorius. The latest addition to the Authentic Trappist products family… 9.7°, dark, bit sour, dry... Not completely my thing, but has a very unique taste (and colour!!!)... Good stuff, Austria, good stuff...

Eli, I bought one of those on Saturday on my trip the the LCBO.  Also left with quite a few other gems as well, and wine for the wife!
